Commercial Description:
Sweetwater Blue is a unique lighter style ale enhanced with a hint of fresh blueberry. When you drink this beer take a good whiff first and you’ll smell the blueberry influence, but on the taste it’s extremely subtle and the finish is extra clean. Ain’t no fruit beer, but it is our breakfast beer, usually folks that are looking to quench their thirst or for those that are new to the “good beer” lifestyle; this is their choice. This brew and the ESB were the original two to go through the tanks at SweetWater in February 1997.

Medals: Bronze medal winner at the 1998 World Beer Cup, Fruit Beer category; Always the funky favorite at any outdoor beer festival

Malt: 2 Row, Wheat

Hops: Centenial

Bottle. Pours light gold, almost no head. Smells like sweet fruit, blueberry fruity pebbles. Tastes about the same, maybe a hint of honey. I A little sweet for my taste, but nice. Nice carbonation. A nice fruit beer.

On draft at the Sweetwater Taphouse in the Atlanta International Airport. Clear light gold pour with minimal off-white head. Blueberry nose is obvious and follows through in the flavor. Medium body, with prickly carbonation and a slightly ’dusty’ finish.

Bottle, little to no head. Pleasing blueberry aroma. Taste of bluberries was definite but had little body and was watery.

Pours clear gold, small white head. Nose of blueberry and malt. Lots of blueberry coming through the mouth feel. Light body and a little watery. Not the best Sweetwater.

Draft from Atlanta Airport. Poured a golden yellow color with a moderate white head that diminished quickly. Moderate blueberry pie aroma. Medium body with soft carbonation. Moderate sweet blueberry flavor with a smooth fruity sweet finish of moderate duration. Interesting but to sweet.

Bottle in trade from robbmotiwalla. Thanks!
Pours clear yellow with light white head. Smell is blueberry and malt. Taste is mild, blueberries and lightly sweeta and cereal like malt. No real bitterness coming through. Very easy to drink and a bit of a dull and bland blueberry flavor. Medium body and lightly crisp carbonation. Decent.

IF you like blueberries, this is for you... It is more than a hint of blueberry... Similar to ole Sunset Wheat. I like it... and you will too.
