Pours a nice dulled amber, decent hazy, moderate whitish head that laces, dies to a decent film. Aromas are a bit piney, caramel malts, floral hoppiness. I like the bit of pine ahead of citrus flavors. Initial is medium bodied, piney resinous flavors along with florals and some earthiness, citrus falls much further behind, with caramel and pale malts complimenting the bitterness well. I like the fact that this IPA is different, not relying heavily on citrus hops, instead bringing a decent dose of pine, florals, and well rounded earthy bitterness, and a touch of fruitiness over the malts, instead of a citrus bomb. Nice. Cheers.

| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 17/20 | Dec 14, 2009 bomber. Really nice looking bronze/amber w/ a slight haze. Nose is sweet and more subtle in the hop department than I expected. Its prickly on the tongue w/ the alcohol & the hops. Herbal citrus w/ a hint of biscuits. Slightly sour. It’s not aggressive at all thou, yet still is solid & hop driven. maltdog (517), Knoxville, Tennessee, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Dec 10, 2009 Bomber pours hazy pale brown with tawny "poofy" foam. Charming "sweet" citrus aroma- mainly grapefruit- also tangelo and necatrine- and Elmer’s glue (WTF?!). Shortbread-y barley. Uberfruity flavor… instant iced tea with lemon, apple juice, mango… sourdough malt taste. Peachy finish; clean and barely bitter aftertaste. Thinnish, creamy palate. Despite boasting the arguably nastiest hop on the planet, this APA displays remarkable restraint and daintyness. Far, FAR too underhopped to ever be considered IPA. It should be served with a cherry and a little paper umbrella in the glass. aracauna (2391), Georgia, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Dec 1, 2009 First off, this isn’t a bad beer, so don’t let my slightly negative review scare you off. It’s actually a downright chugger. I’m just unhappy with what I expected.
You know Sweetwater, I can dig the mellow malt flavors and the candied hop aroma and flavor. There’s even a little apricot floating around in that palate here. But here’s my problem. Any time I notice that the name of the beer is hop related, I expect some freaking hops. This is not a hoppy beer. I want hops, dangit! ksurkin (397), Norfolk, Virginia, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Nov 30, 2009 22oz bomber from bruisin’ ales. pours a clear, medium ruby-copper with a solid, half-inch white head and a thin ring of lace. aroma is very nice with fresh herbal, piney hops with plenty of floral esters and citrus notes of lemon, white grapefruit, and orange with an interesting sweet, green gummy-bear note and and a hint of caramel malts. flavor is quite good as well and i agree with kinz that it matches the aroma very well with fresh herbal, and slightly tart citrus notes of orange and grapefruit with hints of tropical fruits, along the lines of white gummy-bears this time, and a touch of berry balanced very nicely by sweet caramel malts. palate is medium bodied and juicy on the tongue with a lingering, fresh hop and citrus finish. overall, a very well done and underrated fresh hop brew from the dudes in ATL. | 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Nov 27, 2009 Clear medium amber, nice head. Aroma is pine accented hops, slight grapefruit, a touch of cat, some gummy caramel malt. Flavor is a dead on match. Nice balance on the finish between sweetness and bitterness. Rather amazing that the typically aggressive Chinook hop comes off comparatively restrained when it is a wet hop. Nice stuff. Really good IPA, not sure why the ratings aren’t higher on this. Get it, "higher." Ha ha. But really, this is underrated. Teege (107), Orlando, Florida, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 17/20 | Nov 18, 2009 Bomber from Green’s in Atlanta. This is surprisingly good for what it is. Pours a bright amber with a frothy off white head. Notes of fresh lemon and pine in the nose. In the background tiny hints of caramel malts. Very smooth and refreshing. The hops are subdued but very fresh. Bright amber ales flavors as well. Not exactly bold but very enjoyable. savnac (438), Palmer, Alaska, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Nov 16, 2009 22 oz bottle from Grant. Pours a clear deep amber with a small off white head that fades away to nothing. Aroma is perfume and floral hops with plenty of sweet caramel. The flavor is a great balance of sweet caramel malt and biter hops, the alcohol is completely hidden. Medium body with very mild carbonation and a syrupy mouth feel. This is a very nice fresh hop IPA, drinkability is great. Thanks for another great brew Grant. iowaherkeye (1860), Los Angeles, California, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Nov 16, 2009 Photo submitted. Thank you Grant (GAManiac) for the 22oz bomber, no date. Clear medium deep orange with a one finger light yellow brown head, fading to a thick ring and thin film before long. Floral citrus nose with some nicely sweet cotton candy/caramel malt goodness. Light herbal hops and alcohol are kinda hanging in the background--overall good hoppy nose--I’m glad to find this beer in good shape. The flavor turns a bit tropical--pineapple dominates with almost a canned pineapple-ness--just a little too sweet. The finish is semi-dry with bitterness only at a 3, with just a little bit of alcohol burn. Medium body with light to moderate prickly carbonation. Aroma actually got a 7.5. Not too bad, but still a hair of a let down. Also, being named Dank Tank, I was hoping for a big herbal/weed aroma, but got nothing of the sort--not that that hurt the rating.
