| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Dec 4, 2007 2007 PP SAF Bottle from Beeryum, thanks: Deep amber hue with small but lasting head and some lace. The aroma has notes of grassy and resiny hops, bready and caramel malting, peppery and apricot esters, earthy. The taste starts sweet and thanks to a bit of spice, hop bitterness and fruity twang it does not become to much to handle. The mouth feel is sticky and lush with a cleansing alcohol finish. A good one that aging will change. wetherel (1636), Encinitas, California, USA

Nice hoppy aroma. amber color. Small bubble head. Delicious hoppy taste. In the same style as double bastard, a hoppy barley wine. I really love beers in this category. Yet another case, where I rate beers much higher than others. 9,4,9,4,18:4.4
Rerate: Tried again from a bottle received in a trade from Captaincougar on 10/28/08. 6 months old. The hops have faded, and the beer has lost it’s greatness in my mind. Best drunk fresh. IMHO. 8,3,8,4,17:4.0 bikesandbeers (468), Los Angeles, California, USA
