Commercial Description:
The biggest farm animal to come out of the SweetWater Barn! We bucked up and threw everything, including the kitchen sink, into this "Jackass" concoction. At 10% ABV and over 90 IBU - You’ll know it when it hits you in the back of the head!

Bottle. Very nice peach, apple and strong malt aroma - only a hint of alcohol. Cloudy reddish amber color with nice big head. Slightly sweet peach/apple and malt flavor up front with a citrusy hops finish. Alcohol well hidden. Excellent.

Thanks to Cougar for this. Amber pour, big white head. Aroma is pretty hoppy with citrus a lot. Flavor is caramel, citrus hops, lots of fruits, apples and raisens. Lots lof dry-hopped character to this big on the bitterness with a hoppy citrus aftertaste.

1L swingtop courtesy of TheBeerCellar. 2007. Quite lively and robust hoppiness on the nose. Lots of pine, grapefruit and apricot hops. All the hops are balanced by a good amount of malt. Pours rich amber with a creamy white lead wtih excellent retention. Flavor is a nice balance of bright, expressive hops and creamy sweet toffee and caramel malt. Leaning toward full bodied. Rich on the tongue finishing with a lasting pleasant piney bitterness. Nice barleywine. Thanks Matt!

Thanks to Rusty Diamond for the trade--Poured a deep hazy copper-amber body with a bubbly, rocky off-white head. Nose of rich malts and floral, piny hops presence. Candy sweet sugar with a complex, robust finish. Yum!

2007 PP SAF Bottle from Beeryum, thanks: Deep amber hue with small but lasting head and some lace. The aroma has notes of grassy and resiny hops, bready and caramel malting, peppery and apricot esters, earthy. The taste starts sweet and thanks to a bit of spice, hop bitterness and fruity twang it does not become to much to handle. The mouth feel is sticky and lush with a cleansing alcohol finish. A good one that aging will change.

Bottle from ratebeer Atlanta gang (probably beeryum) tasted at Pizza Port Strong Ale festival. Nice hoppy aroma. amber color. Small bubble head. Delicious hoppy taste. In the same style as double bastard, a hoppy barley wine. I really love beers in this category. Yet another case, where I rate beers much higher than others. 9,4,9,4,18:4.4 Rerate: Tried again from a bottle received in a trade from Captaincougar on 10/28/08. 6 months old. The hops have faded, and the beer has lost it’s greatness in my mind. Best drunk fresh. IMHO. 8,3,8,4,17:4.0

PP Strong Ale Fest 07. Liter bottle I believe brought by beeryum. Pour hazy orange, sweet hoppy aroma. Flavor is has a great amount of hops with a strong malt backing. Plenty of alcohol. A classic barley wine.
