Sweet malt aroma and light alcohol that is a bit thick and has something in it that is not too pleasing (though I could not identify it). I noted thick malt with dates and dark fruit. Light alcohol and a fake sweetness that, again, I did not care for. Creamy, syrupy body with light carbonation. This is nothing I would go for again. decaturstevo (1997), decatur, Tennessee, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | May 26, 2006 Pours a hazy brown with nothing special in the aroma but nothing bad. An nice looker with the light flavor of malt but very little hops. Palate was a tad on the watery side and there were no bitters in the end. Sampled at noogfest late. I would like to try it again early in the day. beerguy101 (3946), Newark, California, USA
| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | May 26, 2006 This Abby Double poured a medium brown color from a growler. Small sized white foamy head. Aroma is malty and sweet, caramel and toffee. A full to medium bodied double. Malts are fruity, caramel and sweet. Touch of brown sugar and molasses. Hops are earthy and slightly floral. Smoothly sweet and fruity, extremely drinkable. Nice session beer, one could sip this one all evening. Mouthfeel is full and round. Finish is clean and smooth. Aftertaste is slightly sweet. | 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | May 25, 2006 Thanks to whomever brought this to Noogfest II. This pours murky brown with a small head. Very muted spicy/herbal flavors going on. Nice. aracauna (2391), Georgia, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | May 22, 2006 Pours a hazy brown with a small head. The aroma has a mild spiciness and dark, dried fruits common in dubbels, but in small measure. Good brown sugar quality in the flavor. Tasty, but a bit reserved for the style. Would be a great entry beer to Belgian styles, however. Suttree (2732), Knoxville, Tennessee, USA
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | May 22, 2006 I’m not sure I’d notice this one was a dubbel, I thought it came across as a slightly heavier brown. Reddish brown, with a beige head. Nice toasty, caramelly aroma. Notes of caramel in the flavor at first, with some hints of chocolate, too. But then nothing else much happens. Its kinda like the beer looses interest in itself. Sampled at Noogfest2. Shag (1923), Chattanooga, Tennessee, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | May 22, 2006 A dark amber appearance with a spicy caramel like aroma. A lot of nutmeg, cherries, chocolate and spices showing in the flavor. Not a bad dubble. And I cant think of a clever boobs joke right now either, damnit. LilKem (1210), Marietta, Ohio, USA
