Toffee, butter, carmel, some orangy fruitiness. Nice body, good malt middle, bitter finish. All the components are there, and well blended. A very enjoyable ESB, that almost seems like heaven after trying to finish a pint of the Fullers Vintage 2004. beerstop (173), Roanoke, Virginia, USA

| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Nov 9, 2004 This beer pours a clear red color with a thick foamy white head which nearly poureth o’er my glass. The aroma is strong and fruity with banana and grapefruit being the predominant scents. A slight hint of hops and malt in there as well, but truly very banana-like and thats it! The flavor is medium bodied but once again just ridiculously skewed towards grapefruit and banana. A hint of drying and cloying sweetness in the finish. Perhaps a hint of cardboard...not the best finish around. I had a hard time finding the "bitterness" in here, but i did find a lot of fruits. Not very appealing...dry and one dimensional footbalm (1219), Salt Lake City, Utah, USA

| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Sep 21, 2004 Clear, amber/bronze color, short-lived/non-existent head.
Aroma: mild, few hops, big on sweet malty/breadiness, pitch perfect for the style.
Taste: fruit, cherries, berries, etc., but mildly played, very full and tasty in the mouth, though. Bright and yummy, full of malty delciousness. Drinkable as they come, an easy quencher, but doesn’t impress much beyond that. For an ESB, though, this is near-perfect, methinks.

| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 5/10 | 4/5 | 11/20 | Sep 1, 2004 Amber color, pours with a froth white head. Aroma of malt more than likely crystal malt. Flavor is somewhat piney and very reminensent of a pale ale. Sweet finish. Would make a decent session beer. Eyedrinkale (3209), Astoria, New York, USA
