| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Apr 13, 2005 bottle from Lou. pours brown with a tan head, fading quickly to a thin layer of lace. aromas and flavors of bittersweet chocolate, roasted malts and some coffee. a nice hop bitterness on the finish too. a nice flavored porter but the mouthfeel is just too thin or I would have rated higher. Thanks Lou! Bigassfish (140), Naperville/Chicago, Illinois, USA

Sweetwater has a great collection of labels as well. I wish this company still had its beers in Charlottesville. richlikebeer (832), Easton, Pennsylvania, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Mar 24, 2005 dark brown, but see through (always a negative imo) and very little head. aroma is sweet and malty, which translates directly into the flavor. a smooth taste of malts and chocolates are blended very nicely into a slightly bitter hop tail. my biggest complaint about this brew is its texture, which is very thin. as i said eariler, it isn’t as dark as i expect/prefer, and the mouthfeel is also kind of watery. this isnt the porter for you if you want something that has a chewiness or a velvety feel, but other than that, a decent beer. | 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Mar 20, 2005 Deep red-brown (yeah, translucent) body, thin cream head. Roasted malt aroma with chocolate and earthy hops. Chocolatey body is a bit sweet with hints of dark fruit, including a touch of Concord grape, and earthy hops balance. Finishes a bit chalky. All in all, pretty average and nondescript. Thanks to a yet-to-subscribe-to-RB beer drinker for this one! Lou18 (1353), West Paterson, New Jersey, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 5/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Mar 11, 2005 Bottle is labeled best by 4th month, 3rd week. Poured a hazy deep reddish brown. Rich creamy foamy head. Aroma of chocolate and hops, roasted caramel too. Nice slick mouth feel here. Chocolate and roasted malts as the nose indicates, but also was very rich and almost milky, Nice job, I was going to comment on the body on the light side, but the label stated this was mid body, and damn, right on Nice for us porter heads. thanx to beeryum. | 1.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 2/5 | 4/10 | 2/5 | 7/20 | Feb 28, 2005 Crazy sort of beer, smells alright somewhat porter-like, tasted porter-like but it looks and feels more like a cola, I have never seen such a bubble head that disapaites so quickly on a beer, kind of weird, but it tastes alright and warms me up
