Great malt prescence. My first real porter, and I rather enjoy it. Eyedrinkale (3209), Astoria, New York, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | May 13, 2004 Light in color for a porter with a smallish sized head. Aromas I got were typical but included a light dried fruit aroma. The taste wasn’t as full bodied that I like in porters but grows on you as you drink more. I’ve found most Sweetwater beers to be very enjoyable without being too light. SpringsLicker (2043), Tennessee, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Apr 20, 2004 Side by side w/ Highland Oatmeal Porter. This was thin compared to the Highland Porter. Huge off white head on a deep brown beer. Aroma was malt/bread/cookie with a flavor that was balanced with a short uninteresting finish. krisbierjaeger (844), dolores, Colorado, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Apr 8, 2004 brown as a crust of rye bread; light presses through it, but emerges on the other side all bent up and disoriented. light tan head, about the shade of roasted sunflower meats. the bubbles are a bit too big to be called creamy, but with proud puffery it brandishes a tall head and lace that smears downward like a slow-motion mudslide. varied and rich aroma, some coffee and burlap door mat, some old shoe and sulphur, burnt raisin and vanilla bean. carbonation at first bites like a soda. of course, all beers have a "carbonation trajectory", from vivacious to-- given enough time--flat. and in this case, the patient drinker will soon discover a still brisk, but more palatable fizz; nice malts dominate, roasted until well-done, with moderately sweet chocolate and cola flavors, a slightly unassuming fruity bitterness of --i dunno--lime, perhaps. a medium bodied porter, nice drink. 123456green (46), houston, Texas, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Apr 3, 2004 Dark(almost stout like)ouick fading head, nice aroma of rich malts. Finish is somewhat weak but a good beer nontheless. Will drink again. Thanks to Rajendra82 for this brew. JCapriotti (1378), Milwaukee, Wisconsin, USA
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 2/5 | 7/10 | 2/5 | 13/20 | Mar 30, 2004 Small off-white head that diminishes completely. Dark brown body. Has a burnt chocolately aroma, a bit of Oreo type of smell also. Not a ton of flavor or aroma. Tastes a bit like burnt sweet wine + chocolate. It did grow on me a bit, but it was also kind of watery so it could have been better in that regard. ross (1709), weddington, South Carolina, USA
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 2/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Mar 20, 2004 this is a good porter, chocolaty taste. little to no head. not very thick which is my only gripe. i would liked a little more body. taste is good, goes down pretty good too. all in all not bad. jhayden91 (3), Georgia, USA does not count | 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 3/10 | 5/5 | 6/10 | 5/5 | 15/20 | Feb 11, 2004 This is a great porter. Anything made in Bob Marleys honor is cool. Had a nice body with a fruity aroma. Berry aroma would be about right. Like the new packaging with the Jamacian Colors. Support your local brew
