Bottle Medium reddish-brown with a quickly disappearing tan head. Aroma is a bit faint, but has some chocolate, faint roasted grains, yeasty esters, and earthy notes. The flavor starts out well enough, with some chocolate malt, hop bitterness, and a crisp acidity, then turns sour and tart midway. There’s a bit of roasted grain bitterness on the finish, but it’s otherwise ruled by the overpowering sourness. This could have been a solid porter, but the rough finish screws it up. Thanks to goldtwins for the bottle.

Not a bad porter, not bad at all. Enjoyable! Slightly sweet and syrupy, with your typical tastes that you expect in a porter, nothing really too outlandish here. A little more fruity than I expected, with a nice malty finish.

Dark brown color with a tan head. Malt and some fruit linger in the aroma. Sweet taste, fairly malty. Good beer from Sweetwater. Had this with jgb9348.

Dark brown in colour with a dense tan head. Smells of malt and grapes-pretty nice. Strong maltiness with a decent amount of sweetness. Aftertate fairly malty and pretty bittering. Overll, pretty good for the style...another good showing from Sweetwater. I had this beer on draught at Summit's in Sandy Springs (Atlanta), Georgia on 25-September-2003.

Dark brown color with a large, frothy beige head. The aroma and flavor were both very slight...some nice burnt chocolate, dark fruits, and a sour cherry tone. The feel was too gassy...not smooth at all. I'm not impressed with this one.

12 oz bottle, goblet, 50 degrees. Average, tan, creamy head is quickly diminishing and is on a deep brown body with cola to ruby edges. Chocolate and toasted grain malt; flowery hops; pepper, cola and port aromas. Aroma doesn't quite come together very well. Moderately sweet throughout with light bitterness, and a moderate sour acidity in the finish. Medium body, creamy texture, soft carbonation. The chocolate/cola/pepper flavor just doesn't sit well with me. The bottom line is: another dissappointing SweetWater, IMHO.

Chocolate malt aroma and a rich tan head begin the experience. True to its claim, it's medium bodied and very chocolatey... and CREAMY! The finish is one of continuing chocolate maltiness. Delicious.
