Commercial Description:
Well, the temperature is dropping and the days are getting shorter. You know what that means don’t you? It’s time for our WINTER BREW… A full-bodied, high-octane brew capped off with our use of cinnamon and mace. This beer will warm you all the way to your bones. Brewed only one day a year. We only bottle 4200 liters, 550 12 oz. cases, and a handful of kegs, so get it while you can.

Malt: 2 Row, Munich, Chocolate, Black, 30/37 Carastan, 70/80 Crystal, Spice, Cinnamon, Mace

Overall: more subdued than the 2007 in a side by side comparison, continues the trend of getting less agressive each year, a rich spiced chocolate porter

2006 12 oz bottle. Chestnut brown with a thick, creamy tan head. Aroma of caramel, toffee, nutmeg, and roasted malt. Flavor of ripe plums and raisins in the fore, while bitter chocolate, spice, earth, and a prominent roastiness emerge in the finish. I thought this was excellent.

one liter bottle thanks to colemgm8. Nice brown color with a tan head. Decent spicy aromas with some caramel and other spices. flavor fell off a bit mostly due to oxidation I think. Some metallic and bandage flavors. Not too bad though. I would like to try a pint at the brewery.

2006 bottle shared by tjthresh at csbosox tasting 7/3. Pours deep brown with ruby highlights and a thin, creamy, tan cap. The aroma is a blend of milk chocolate, pepper and allspice. Light/medium-bodied, oily and smooth on the tongue, almost flat. Deep malty flavor with spicy, coffeeish highlights. Finishes fairly dry. Not bad for a holiday brew. Thanks again, Tom!

Enjoyed at the csbosox tasting 7/3 courtesy of tjthresh. Pour is brown with some reddish highlights. Aroma is almost a scotch roasted toffee malt, very sweet. Taste is scotch malt and the spiciness - some nuttiness and pepper (black - spicy). The finish is very dry and quick.

Big ass bottle from pintcb
Dark brown with some ruby highlights. Dirty tan, light brown head. Really nice malty, chocolate, and cinnimon aromas. Lots of the same flavors. I got a sharp little bite right on the tip of my tongue. A nice bit of bitterness. Medium body. Really a lot better that I was expecting.
