Had a mild scent of chocolate. Taste is choclaty with hidden spices, some cinnamon. Had a slim aftertaste. This beer overall is relativley mild, yet a very good seasonal. shrubber85 (2911), Wallhalben, Germany
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Jan 6, 2007 Bottle. Young apple vinegar aroma - reminds me of my grandfather’s fruit cellar - mace seems to dominate. Dark brown color with small head. Flavor most like a spiced cider that has just started to turn or spiced applesauce made with over-ripe apples - again mace seems to be the dominant spice. Mild alcohol burn in the finish. I think I would like this better if the cinnamon came out more. Juancho (225), Clearwater Beach, Georgia, USA

Out of a big 750 (?) bottle also tap.
Nice dark winter ale color, almost no head and little carbonation. Beautiful aromas of a holiday/festive ale, predominantly malty and chocolate, but spices too. One of my favorit holiday beers. the 2006 is out in the market and pretty good too. kenb (1100), Oregon, USA

This one pours a dark brown/black with a small beige head. Nose is roasty and spicey. Does not taste like it smells. is pretty sweet and fruity. Plums, Raisins, toasted malts, cinnamon, and nuts. A bit of alcohol present in the finish but no burn. Moderate carbonation. Medium body. I am plesantly surprised at how good this is. BeerloverEJ21 (131), Georgia, USA

Its not bad beer at all, i just dont like it. The flavor is too sweet, and the aftertaste lingers. It smells rich and fragrent, and doesnt leave my palate with a message that says, "hey, this is tastey beer". Decent, but not my style, sorry guys. puzzl (2620), New York, New York, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Jan 1, 2007 Bottle from TheBeerCellar2. Pleasant aroma, toasty, peanut brittle, cinnamon and spcies, black pepper. Pour is a very dark, clear brown, with a small head, akin to Anchor OSA. Spicy taste, kind of sharp, pumpkiny, tomato, cinnamon. I like spiced beers but this one didn’t really do it for me. brianprentiss (475), Portland, Oregon, USA
