Horrendous brew. Perhaps one of the worst beers I have ever had. I don’t care to taste cinnamon or nutmeg in my beer.

2005. Black with just a red hue and a thin, tan head that is almost nonexistent. Very rich, molasses malt aroma. Saturated. Herbs, milk, caramel, and dark fruit complement the aroma. Flavor has all of the aroma components plus a thyme-like spice at the start of the palate that integrates itself nicely then dimishes towards the finish. Reminds me of a better done John Barleycorn.

Floating yeast chunks shot to the top of the bottle when opened. Has a small tan head, which quickly dies down into a film layer on top of a brandy red and brown colored body. Nose is sharp and biting, some cherries, cedar wood, sharp oak and some rough malt scents, along with a more interesting note of ginger. Flavor is more than a bit off - some cream and soy flavors, with a bar sourness, and slight alcohol burn, leaving an almost bourbon-like resin in the finish.

2005 #578. Cola pour; nose is rummed and candied fruits (figs, dates). Flavour of roast with ginger and a soy sause quality. Very oily in the mouth.

2005 bottle. Thanks to whomever sent me this, lost my tradelist. Aroma was different had a caramel spice type aroma. Poured a nice darker brown. Flavor was interesting, caramel, spice mix well with the hops until there’s a warming vanilla to take over. Palate was good. Overall I enjoyed this.

2005 -- Another big thanks to CaptainCougar for sending this one to me. A minimal white head over a very nice deep brown body. Very nice aroma, almost like a spicy Scottish Ale, malt and a peet like aroma are evident. Similar to the Stoudts Scotch Ale in taste, with some nice spicy accents. Dry and hot ending.
