Poured black with a tan head. Spicey dark fruit aroma. Taste was sweet with notes of roast malt, dark fruit and spices. Maybe some licorice. Decent winter brew.

Bottle into shaker. Weird late breaking head (as was the case with the 420). Dark brown body with nice creamy beige head. It had a nice texture with a creamy body and minimal carbonation, but not much else going for it. The aroma was very simple with some roasted notes and some slight hints of tobacco and coffee. The flavor exhibited a strange sweetness that, when mixed with the roastyness, was almost nauseating.

Shared by dekruk I think. The aroma is spicy with some leafy notes. Brown pour with a nice tan head. Weird spice, citrus, dark malt mix. Some roasted dark malts come in as well as a light sweetness. Dry roasty finish.

Every time i drink this i think of the same thing.... Liquified Christmas Cookies! Take all the different types of cookies you can get during the holidays and throw them all in a blender! Sweetwater Festive Ale! 12oz bottle - 6pack from Publix Grocery store - Pours a minimal light brown, tan head almost looks like the froth of hot chocolate, that dissapates quikly, dark ruby red/mahogony color. Smells like a German dopple bock...Taste like chocolate, molassas, ginger, dark roasted black coffee, figs. Mouth feel is sticky sweet, the alcohol is very well disguised for a 8.6% Get some when you can it wont be around long!!

I just wasn’t a huge fan of this beer, I’m sorry. It’s very well made as with all of their other products but this is the only sweetwater beer I wasn’t crazy about. I drank this out of a shaker.

On tap at Barley’s in Asheville... This was a nice holiday ale, since it was a bit darker than most, and the spices and sweetness were very subdued. Pours a dark brown, the aroma is of cinnamon (it has mace in it as well, but who has a nose for that?)--- the spices seem to numb the tongue nicely.

2007 1L waxed swingtop shared by cdumler. Thanks! Pours a clear and very dark ruby color with a medium off-white head. Decent head retention and low lacing. Aroma of dark fruits, nuts, sawdust and citrus. Taste is heavy on the sunflower seeds, with notes of dark fruits, caramel, honey, spice and a nice warming alcohol. Muddled hops in the finish. Full bodied.

Poured a ruby red color with a flat off white head. Aroma was hints of some spices, lots of malts, nothing too entising. Flavor was much the same, sweet malty beer with a little bit of fruity sweetness and a bit nutty as well. This beer was a bit too thin imho but at the same time it was acceptable because it hid the alcohol amazingly.
