Curtesy of Gunhaver. Ruby color, light foam. Aroma is of spices (maybe pepper/corriander) and malt, fruity with apples/figs. Gives a nice warm aftertaste. updated rating. 2008 bottle aroma came off with a vegetable/tomato powder leather like like nose with spices and notes of chocolate. Taste of chocolate malts, spices some cinnamon and roastiness. Sme dark fruits and vegetable palate.

Bottle pours dark brown with thick tan head. Aroma is sweet dates, alcohol, spice and toffee. Taste is dates, bread with hint of coffee. Finish is dry with slight linger of spice. Does taste different as it warms, more spices come out. Very good spice seasonal.

Bottle in trade from robbmotiwalla. Thanks!
Pours a medium lasting tan head atop a coffe brown body. Smell is a bit figgy and fruity malt with a light creamy coffee flavor. Taste is also dark and fruity with a hint of coffee. Gets harder to drink as it warms and is very odd. The spices and flavor of the malt just don’t mesh well for me.

Dark brown pour with a creamy ivory beige head and some little lacing. Smell is very light and is caramel and malt. Flavor is decent malt with some cream to it. Semi sweet flavor as well. Not perfectly balanced here. No boldness or real depth to it. Semi decent palate - a slight creaminess to it. Not awful.

2006 vintage - thanks to hank1980 for this huge red wax covered swing-top; bottle 7727 of 9000; carbonation remained perfectly as it pours dark mix of brown and burgundy with foamy white head; sweet and tart aroma mix of candy, malts, bread, caramel and dates; a little earthy and funky too; just overall a great nose; body is thin and kind of a strange mix of flavors - spice, sage, grains, pine and sweet candy; a little earth as well and interesting in a unique way; dry and chalky aftertaste; thanks hank!!

2007 bottle. Pours a rich nutty brown with decent head that hits the road pretty quickly. Aroma of faint chocolate, some almonds, and strong nutmeg. Taste is somewhat biscuity, with hints of fruitcake, cinnamon, and sage...a slight hearty vegetable spice creeps up in the finish. Very smooth drinkability, hard to believe this is 8.6 %. Not top-notch, but decent.

Pours a clear deep brown with a small off white head. Aroma is very spicey with nutmeg, cloves and maybe some walnuts. Flavor is really the same. Finshes with some earthy, grapefruit bitterness. Medium body and carbonation.

Thanks to dchmela for this beer. 2007 bottle. Pours a light brown/red with a decent beige head. The aroma is mostly spices, some nuts, and a bit of caramel. The taste is dominated by a kind of odd spice and almost sourness. Some lightly roasted malts, a bit of herbs, some brown sugar also. Not bad.
