Bottle via trade with TheBeerCellar. Pours a dark brown with a touch of red to it. Aroma is spicey and sweet. Flavor is also spicey and sweet, cinnamon, sugar and a touch of hops, but not quite as good as the aroma promised. An interesting, middle of the road beer.

2006 bottle. Clear dark brown body with a thin tan head. Chocolate malt, ginger, cinnamon, nutmeg, and piney hops in the aroma. The choclate maltiness takes center stage and is enhanced by the various spices. Nicely balanced and flavorful.

Black cola with little head. Light light roast, watery mint aroma. Very watery roasty taste, water power brown sugar taste. Thin feel, dry tasteless paste finish. Not very impressive. Maybe my large meal effected the taste of this beer. I have also noticed i a not likeing this style of brew.

Bottle from CaptainCouger. Pour was brown, some lighter amber/copper areas, thin head dissipates to a very minimal bit. The aroma was molasses, chocolate, light roast, no spices as others have noted. The flavor was molasses, chocolate, light roast, faint brown sugar, and with warmer temperatures some cinnamon and nutmeg. The mouthfeel was moderately bodied, a little light on carbonation. A neat brew, much thanks to Tom for this one.

Sampled at MN Ratebeer Winter Gathering in Maplewood, MN and supplied by tyleranderso. From a 12-oz bottle pours a semi-clear cola brown brew with a thin off-white head that quickly dissipates to a fine film and ring. Aroma of roasted caramel malt, red licorice, a touch of cinnamon and nutmeg. Taste is medium bodied, light carbonation with flavors of roasted dark caramel malt, some flowery hops, allspice, nutmeg and some light spice. Finish has a light herbal spice aftertaste along with some semi-sweet caramel taste in the background.

MN Ratebeer Winter Gathering, January 12, 2008. Thanks to Tytoanderso for sharing. Dark brown color with no head. Sweet cinnamon aroma with cardamom (though after reading the description, I’m sure that was Mace). The malt body was a little soured. Dry hop finish and a bit of spiciness.
