Appearance: Nearly opaque, dark mahogany-hued body with a ¾ inch-high layer of creamy, off-white foam. Smell: Subdued toastiness bountifully layered with sweet-smelling notes of caramel candy. The hops are earthy and citrusy with some subordinate scents of leafiness and pine. Also, let’s not forget that oaky, vanilla fragrance. Taste: The soothing malts bring about a taste of sweet, candyish caramel which melds with the smooth vanilla cream flavor from the oak. Touches of toasted bread. Earthy, citrusy flavor with a modest backing of white pine from the hops along with a medium-plus bitterness. Small zip of spicy oak wood. Rebound of caramel and honey-flavored candy arrive late. For me, the finish was drying, a tad warming, and relatively bittersweet. Mouthfeel: Medium-bodied. Medium carbonation. Smooth, near-creamy mouthfeel. Drinkability: Delightful fusion of fresh hop character and ambient oakiness. Yes, ChainGangGuy, but how does it compare to the Dank Tank release? No friggin’ clue as I have had it yet. But soon, friends... soon! How’s Saturday for you guys?
