Medal: Gold medal winner at the 2001 Great American Beer Festival – English Style Brown Ales.

Malt: 2 Row, Black, Victory, 30-37 Carastan, 70-80 Crystal, Chocolate

Hops: Columbus, Willamette

On-tap at the brewpub. Another sweet brown beer, clearly a malt play. Some soapy head and lacing was nice. Kind of a root beer, with licorice.

I got this for the rating. Infact, i tried to pass it off to The Bride, but she would have none of it. It’s a Brown Ale. No more, no less. Its not a bad brown ale, its just a beer style I don’t particularly cae for. Familiar flavor and smells of toffee and caramel and some brown sugar. On tap, Barley’s, Asheville.

This was recommended by a server at the Sweetwater brewery lounge (Thanks Jess). Sampled during the cask ale tasting. A very good brown ale, definately one of the better I have tasted. The description is spot on. I would have this one again the next time I am there

Pours a clear brown with a small white head. Has a sweet aroma and taste with a mild nutty flavor. Pretty good brown ale.

Draft at Mellow Mushroom-Brookhaven. Pours a clear, watery brown. Aroma of nuts. Flavor is decently malty. Not enough nutty taste for my palate. Slight bitter finish.

Pours a deep brown color with little-to-no head. Aroma is slightly nutty. Flavor is hoppy and lemony. Good beer... I enjoyed it over a pizza at Mellow Mushroom in Panama City Beach, FL. On tap.

Poured a dark brown from a bottle. An aroma of peanuts came through. It had a well-balanced taste between the malts and hops with a strong nuttiness standing out.
