Aroma has a hint of molasses, and is beery but not overwhelmingly so. Color is a pretty brown. Taste is malty and mild with a smoky undertone and hints of caramel. This beer works by itself, or as a party drink, or as an accompaniment to a nice meal.

12oz bottle.
Bonus bottle from Degarth. Pours a clear chestnut brown, a little on the light side for a brown. Forms a thin head of tightly packed bubbles that nearly disappears, leaving a ring around the edge that leaves a spot of lace here and there. Aroma promises quite an experience, rich with molasses, pumpernickel bread, and dried grains. Unfortunately, the flavor did not deliver on the promise, lacking the rich sweet punch that showed in the aroma. There was a decent amount of malt sweetness to accompany the light roasted grain flavor, with a small touch of raisin thrown in, but the flavor seemed watered down, especially compared to the aroma. Hops make a modest showing as the swallow goes down with a disappointingly flat, watery palate. This beer is certainly pointed in the right direction; it just doesn’t arrive at its promised destination.

Pours a opaque brown color, with slight head. Hints of chocolate caramel, and fruit. A lot of flavor for a light bodied brew. Finishes thin.

On tap at the brewery. Not much head on top of a medium brown slightly opaque liquid. Some lacing on the glass. Smells a little nutty. Taste is toffee, caramel and bread. A little thin.

12oz bottle acquired in trade with aracana (thanks!). Poured a medium brown color with an averaged sized off white head. Aromas of toasted nuts, caramel, and light cocoa. Tastes follow suit. Thinner body.

Bottle. Nice dark brown, off white head and good lacing. Sweet malt aroma, some nuts and caramel. Crisp on the mouth, a little tangy, then moves into buttery malt. Better than I remember.

On draught at multiple locations in ATL, including brewery and in bottle. Pours clear and brown with moderate crown and nice lacing. Nice malty and toasty aroma, with hints of caramel. Flavour is sweet and malty with subtle hop character and hints of brown sugar and caramel. Nutty flavour is more prominent on draught than in bottle and provides something interesting in an otherwise very moderately average beer. Very much a session brown ale with a smooth and moderate palate and nice malty finish. Overall very nice, but not characteristic.
