| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Jan 26, 2006 Sweet Georgia Brown Ale pours to beautiful, bright, dark amber to light chestnut brown color, with a slight white head that fades, and a soft to moderate amount of carbonation. The nose on this beer is wonderful with the aromas of sweet malt and mild roasted nuts. The palate is soft and lean on the tongue, but is just packed with good sweet malty, toffee and nutty flavors. Sweet Georgia Brown finishes with more sweet malt and nuts up front, then ends with just a touch of hop bitterness but still ends malty and nutty.
This is an outstanding Nut Brown Ale, with lots of flavor, and like all Sweet Water beers, is very drinkable. It can be enjoyed by both beer geeks, and novices to the style. It makes for a great beer to socialize with, as the abv is low, and would work well with a number of dishes. NYHarvey (2154), New York, New York, USA

| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Nov 29, 2005 (12 oz bottle: Obtained in trade with goldtwins, thanks Larry!) Sweet, toasty, mildly roasty, caramely and a bit nutty, somewhat earthy and only lightly bitter, this is a pretty straightforward American brown ale, no surprises in the flavor, but no flaws either. Not as much in the nose however, just some light toast, nuts and earth, more aroma wouldn’t hurt. Medium bodied and well-carbonated. The beer’s color is on the border between light brown and dark amber, and the light tan head settles to a ring. A few small patches of lace are left on the glass. Decent, but not amazing, but then again, it’s just a brown ale. theshocker (329), Marietta, Georgia, USA
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Nov 19, 2005 Dark brown (duh) but clear, minimal head. Roasted malt in the nose, no hops. Straightforward malt flavor, a touch of bitterness in the finish. A little nut, cherry, liquorish, ok...for a brown. jrob21 (1278), Atlanta, Georgia, USA

| 2.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Oct 17, 2005 Druaght. Brown-red, with medium off-white head. Aroma is relatively small, but slightly roasty. Has a little malt in flavor, tad watery, and very thin. Kind of in the middle between sweet and dry, and the brewers should pick a direction and go that way. NachlamSie (1651), Tennessee, USA
| 2.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 12/20 | Sep 25, 2005 on draught: Pours a full red-brown color with just a filmy white head. There’s a faint sweet malt aroma. The Sweet Georgia Brown has a pretty weak mouthfeel and hits my palate thinly also. It’s definitely sweet with a finish that almost reminds me of cotton candy. A few sips later, I noticed just an iota of roastiness there. This beer is pretty easy to drink, but it would be better if it had some more body or something else to balance the sweetness.
