Not much bitterness. Finish clean. This was a solid brown ale. Certainly the best brew offered at the sports bar I was at, which aside from the Guiness, this was the only non macro. Medium sweet flavor with a medium sweet finish of moderate duration. Soft drinkable brew. WillieV (191), Maryland, USA

Thanks to ckeegan04 for this one. My bottle was poured into a standard pint glass .Nice dark brown body brew toped of with a good two fingers worth of tan head that turned to a nice lace.
Great aromas sweet roasted malts and a little smoke to it as well
This is good brown ale well balanced with the sweetness of the malts coming first and then the bitter roasted nuttiness flavors finishing it off. The mouthfeel is medium and crisp in the carbonation department.
Drinkability is good on this brew I enjoyed it with a big bowl of cheddar soup wish I had a few more for the rest of the day mansquito (846), Boston/Philadelphia, USA
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Sep 4, 2008 Pours a light reddish brown color with a beige head. Caramel malty aroma. Smooth and slightly sweet. Little nutty aftertaste. Rather malty. It is a good session, but it is not a very complex beer, but I think that the brewers were going for a simple easy brown ale. | 1.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 3/10 | 4/5 | 3/10 | 2/5 | 5/20 | Aug 31, 2008 Looks great (pours a deep brown with frothy head) but tastes rancid. Hints of caramel and nuts but there was an odd chemical-y taste to it that led to a drain pour after about 3 sips. Given that I hated the 420, I will be avoiding this brewer like the plague. lithy (1825), Knoxville, Tennessee, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 5/5 | 14/20 | Aug 25, 2008 Clear ruby brown color with a thin light tan head that recedes quickly to a thin cover. Nutty nose, mostly caramel and bread. Nifty flavors play over the light carbonation. Smooth caramel and sweet brown malts give this beer one of the best mouthfeels I’ve ever had on a born ale. crazyvin (1254), New York, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Aug 21, 2008 Uh brown. A nice nutty aroma with hints of syrupy sweetness. A rich malty profile all the way through on the flavor. Caramel, nut malts dominating. Palate was smooth for the most part but gassy at times.
