| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | May 12, 2008 A round number, this brew’s 175th rating. Bottle via jrob_21 - thanks, Jonathan! Sweet malty nose, lightly roasted with nice nuttiness and slight toffee. Deep mahogany pour with a short beige head. Taste is lightly bitter, lightly sweet and lightly dry at points, finishes with a dry, lightly tangy punch. Mid-body pervaded by nuts and caramel, very malty and earthy with a light toasted element. Medium body and smooth. Very, very nice. illinismitty (1811), Nashville, Tennessee, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | May 5, 2008 Bottle from frugal mcdugal in Nashville. Pours dark amber with an off white head. Approaching thin on texture. Aroma of seeping grains and maple syrup. Flavor of maple (I am thinking mcdonalds pancakes), nuts, tea and... thats about it. Somewhat sweet. Brown ales are not very exciting, but this one is not too bad. Worth a try. Would I buy a six? No. emacgee (1892), Chapel Hill, North Carolina, USA
