| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Apr 5, 2008 Deep, dark pour. A good thickness similar to 10w/30 motor oil. Head was a minimal quarter inch height but an enticing whipped chocolate mousse color. Hoppily dominated nose, floral, slight espresso and cocoa. The black malt is a little more expressive. Flavor is nice...cold, sweet coffee, bittersweet dark chocolate, burnt sugar and finishes piney with a touch of smoke. Nice composition of flavors and feel. Smooth and easily enjoyable. | 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Apr 1, 2008 Poured a rich dark black-brown opaque body. Lots of chocolate, grains, and floral hops. Big, biting, and complex stout. One of the best out there. RichJ7 (1175), Cullman, Alabama, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Mar 29, 2008 Dark black pour with a small tan head. Toasted malt aroma with a nice earthy hop presence. Flavor is very rich: toasted caramel malts with a nice chocolate taste. Medium palate ... very smooth and drinkable. Excellent. Beerlando (2335), Orlando, Florida, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Mar 29, 2008 Pours dark mahogany to black body. A creamy tan head leaves nice swaths of lacing on the glass. The aroma is very hoppy for a stout, showing big pine resin notes over the requisite roasty chocolate malts. Likewise, the flavor shows big, prickly pine hops atop a solid background of chocolate and toasted caramel malts. Mocha and a touch of vanilla are present as well. Solid, substantial mouthfeel. Smooth and easy drinking. Reminds me of Rogue’s Shakespeare Stout in its evergreen hop-forward nature. Solid interesting brew. mhelgason (495), Charlotte, North Carolina, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Mar 25, 2008 bottle. small light brown creamy (quickly dissapating) head into black body. aromas of strong semi-sweet cocoa, coffee, and moderate hops. velvety mouthfeel, dry texture, long finish duration, average carbonation. good imp stout though not as powerful as typical imp stouts. drfabulous (1243), Columbia, Missouri, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Mar 24, 2008 Chocolate. Roasty. Pours black. While not the best Imperial Stout, it is a very good beer and worth returning to. Bought at Green’s in Atlanta. ElGaucho56 (393), USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Mar 23, 2008 Pours a near obsidian black with minimal tannish head, some simple lacing. Nose is slightly smoky, with hints of cocoa and molasses. Starts briny and prickly, with some herbal hop characters, moves towards brown sugar richness with notes of tart berries, finishes medicinal and smoky. Despite their puerile names, the beers are getting better. BigMilly8 (376), Holiday, Florida, USA
| 2.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 10/20 | Mar 23, 2008 From bottle : Pours very dark black, with a thin brown head that forms, and only last a few minutes. It leaves lots of bubbles around the edges along with some foam. Decent lacing. Nose is roasted malts, earthyness, some funk, and hops. Weird smells for a Impy Stout. Roasted flavor, with the chocolate coming through in the end. Some alcohol present as well. There is something else i can pin point, but it is just throwing this beer off. Thin body for a stout, and finishes kinda watery. Not very impressed with this.
