Commercial Description:
It's nice to be able to finally brew some beer without restrictions on it. we came from Colorado where we could brew or try anything. We've been waiting 7 years to make a stout and we harnessed all that frustration into this batch of beer.

We didn't get caught up in the parameters of a specific style we just brewed a big fat hoppy beautiful beer. The timing of the law change couldn't have been better for us, because it has taken until this summer for us to get set up in our new brewery. We finally have some capacity to experiment with some new style. This could lead into a seasonal offering from us in the future. For now we're just glad we can satisfy the demands of the folks who have been on us since day 1 to make a stout.

Malt: 70/80 crystal malt, chocolate malt, black malt, roasted malt

Hops: Centennial, Willamette and cascade - on the dry hop!

Bottle, thanks to kp!, pours a nice dark black with an ample light brown head, minimal lacing. Minimal aroma of roasted malts, molasses and light chocolate. Sweeter and lighter taste with a roasty disposition, noticable hops, and a very clean and smooth finish. Medium and slick on the palate. This is certainly not your typical IS; glad I had the chance to try.

Bottle courtesy of SpringsLicker. Pours as black as black can get with a chocolate milk colored head. Nice aromas of chocolate, nut, some roast and a hoppy background. The flavor was quiet hoppy with a mocha & roast background. Medium body with a roasty, mocha, hoppy aftertaste. A little different having that much hops in an impy stout but it was very enjoyable none the less.

Poured pitch black with a dark brown head. Smells of chocolate and roasted coffee. Very smooth for an Imperial Stout.

12 oz bottle courtesy of OhioDad...Thanks Scott! Poured jet black, very thin, no head. Smelled like coffee. Taste was very light for an Imperial Stout, which I liked. Slight coffee and chocolate taste with just a bit of hops. Pretty good beer!

A 12-oz bottle shared by Brewfiend in Minnesota. Pours a near opaque motor oil dark brown, with a dense brownish tan head. Aroma of toasted dark barley, chocolate, sugared coffee, and a touch of white pine needles and sap. Taste is smooth, creamy and lightly carbonated. Other tastes include dark fruits, pitted raisined fruits and hops. Palate finish is also smooth.

12 oz bottle bonus via bgburdman9, many thanks. dated best by 6/12/07. Would have been nicer to have the image on the left but this will do. Pours black with a stable half finger light tan head. Aroma has a little chocolate and a hint of smoke. The taste is really weird for an impy. It is hoppy and malty and yet retains some of what an impy should be. This is weird but not bad, I’m just really not used to having hops in my impy.

This pours black with a tan head. It has a feint aroma of licorice. the flavor is bland, with neither roastiness, chocolate nor anything else you’d normally find in an imperial stout. There’s nothing *bad* in the flavor or aroma, but what’s there doesn’t have much.
