Commercial Description:
It's nice to be able to finally brew some beer without restrictions on it. we came from Colorado where we could brew or try anything. We've been waiting 7 years to make a stout and we harnessed all that frustration into this batch of beer.

We didn't get caught up in the parameters of a specific style we just brewed a big fat hoppy beautiful beer. The timing of the law change couldn't have been better for us, because it has taken until this summer for us to get set up in our new brewery. We finally have some capacity to experiment with some new style. This could lead into a seasonal offering from us in the future. For now we're just glad we can satisfy the demands of the folks who have been on us since day 1 to make a stout.

Malt: 70/80 crystal malt, chocolate malt, black malt, roasted malt

Hops: Centennial, Willamette and cascade - on the dry hop!

Liter bottle from Green’s Discount in Sadlanta. Aged 1.25 years. Nose is disappointing: roast, coal, dark chocolate and very faint. Flavor is similarly subdued: gets sweeter, but little kick or pleasure. Perhaps I aged the fun out of it, but this didn’t taste imperial.

Pours black with small head. Aroma - Roasted malt, caramel, chocolate, and very nice floral hops. Taste - Same as it smells, awesome. Mouthfeel - thick, creamy, like a stout. Overall - I Love this beer! It’s creamy malted goodness is balanced by wonderfully by the hops.

Rich brown with rather low carbonation. Light vanilla dances on top of breaths of roast barley. Super malt ball flavor, with heaps of residual malt sugar. Vanilla notes with some burnt roast barley on the finish.

2008 12oz. thanks to kp. Served into a snifter. Pour is oily black with small dark brown head. Aromas of roasty goodness, licorice, alcohol, and some chocolate. Flavor is dominated by licorice. It is fairly sweet and finishes with a hint of chocolate. Just too much for me. Eh.

2009 Bottle - Thanks SpringsLicker! - Pours almost black with a large brown head...aroma is dark chocolate, massive hop florals and toasty malt...flavour is similarly hop forward, but yields to more sublte molassas, cocoa and finishes a bit salty...this was a great brew...

Bottle. Who doesn’t love a happy ending? I always get one after my massages! Just kidding. Anyway, this is interesting. It’s a RIS meets an IPA. Black in color with a nice tan head. Hoppy aroma, some roast poking through. Flavor is really hoppy, Cascade I would say, with a little bit of roasty coffee/chocolate thrown in. Would like a little more malt to balance the hops, but it’s a great beer overall. Full mouthfeel.
