Commercial Description:
It's nice to be able to finally brew some beer without restrictions on it. we came from Colorado where we could brew or try anything. We've been waiting 7 years to make a stout and we harnessed all that frustration into this batch of beer.

We didn't get caught up in the parameters of a specific style we just brewed a big fat hoppy beautiful beer. The timing of the law change couldn't have been better for us, because it has taken until this summer for us to get set up in our new brewery. We finally have some capacity to experiment with some new style. This could lead into a seasonal offering from us in the future. For now we're just glad we can satisfy the demands of the folks who have been on us since day 1 to make a stout.

Malt: 70/80 crystal malt, chocolate malt, black malt, roasted malt

Hops: Centennial, Willamette and cascade - on the dry hop!

Had it at the airport Bar in Atlanta...was not expecting much but quite a good example of an imperial stout. Thick, lustrous mouthfeel, a little chalky, but chocolate flavor present. Little to no head. Deep, dark in color. Nice kick. Glad to have such a fine stout in an airport bar.

12 oz bottle, 750ml bottle. This is the second take for this brew. The taste is a little bit funky. The body is not very full and there is little carbonation. Not my preference.

Bottle: Pours a dark chocolate with a hint of a tan head and lacing. Smells bitter almost an older bread, but unusual enough to notice the hidden malts and hops. Leaves the palate dry, but in an unusual way, wants more. This is an excellent crafted brew.

33.8 oz. bottle, #1972/3000. Black/brwon with ruby mahogany highlights topped by a light brown large rocky head and good lace. Aroma dominated by coffee and dark chocolate, some licorice and spice. Full body, medium carbonation, mildly astringent, chewy, dry. Molasses flavor with roasty maltinessthat becomes bitter quickly, with a long, bitter finish. A solid imperial stout.

Very dark body with a creamy, brown-tan head which doesn’t actually leave that fast. Aroma very malty, coffee, chocolate, toffee, slight tinge of hops. Tastes pretty similar to the aroma, except the hops are much more present. Thick and a little syrupy. The bottle I have is a giant 1L with a stopper on top which somehow seems appropriate for this beer. Well I don’t know about the ending but the beginning of my night has started quite nicely, very good brew.

Dark pour with a tan head that went away too quickly. The aroma is of chocolate, roast, light vanilla, some earth. Flavors are balanced and nice. Sweet dark malts, chocolate, roast, earth, and alcohol make an appearance. Nice fully body, viscous and smooth. Medium carbonation bites in the finish.

12 oz bottle via a trade with I don’t remember who. Pours very very dark with a smallish brown head. Aromas of anise and chocolate. Some cappuccino in there too. Flavors fell off a bit with still some chocolate and bitter black coffee, but not nearly as nice as the aromas. Bitter dark cacao finish. Not too much carbonation left in this beer. I may have let it age a touch too long. Not too bad overall.

courtesy of cigarcitybrew. Pours black, brown head. Aroma is hoppy, with some smoked malts. Taste, dark fruits (cherry), some nice roasted malts. Low carbonation with chocolate notes. Alcohol is well hidden, but remains warming on the palate. The beer is very smooth, thick and grainy.
