Commercial Description:
This mammoth IPA is defined by generous quantities of premium hops and balanced with a premium selection of English malt. Traditionally unfiltered IPA’s lead to the slight haze appearance. An extensive dry-hopping process contributes to its very intense floral hop aroma. The IPA is unfiltered and as always, unpasteurized to leave all the natural flavors intact. If you’re at the brewery you’ll be able to guess what style of beer every brewer has in his hand. THE BEER YOU'VE BEEN TRAINING FOR!

Malt: 2 Row, Pale Malt, Munich, 70-80 Crystal, Wheat

Hops: Columbus, Golding

Dry Hop: Columbus, Golding

Bottle. Slightly hazy, orange color. Gentle flowery aroma and soft mouthfeel. I’d like a bit more bite in the after taste, but I don’t think that is what they were going for, so I won’t hold it against them. This is my favorite beer from Sweetwater.

Bottle: Thanks Secret Santa! Pours an orange color with good clarity and a dense off white head. Aroma is of mild citrus- a touch catty, mild butterscotch (diacetyl) and mild resiny character. Nice fluffy mouthfeel. Simple flavor- a touch catty with a light sweet malt (nutty crystal) notes as well. Subdued citrus hop notes throughout. A bit simple.

bottled. Aroma has mango, ananas, grapefruits. Very hoppy. Hazy, orange coloured with a thin, off-white head. The taste is bitter, slightly sweet, has all the fruits in it. Quite hoppy, medium bodied beer. Dry, slightly sharp finish.

Bottle, best by 3/30/09. Pours a clear orange with a small white head. Aroma of sweet citrus, tropical fruits, grapefruit, and grassy hops. Flavor of sweet oranges, some grapefruit and caramel malt. Incredibly fruity and awesome. Super smooth drinking. Wow, this beer just awed me! I need a case of this stuff! 9/4/9/5/17 (4.4/5)

Bottle, thanks to ucusty. Best by 3/30/09. Aroma of resinous, piney, floral hops, peachy, and spicy hops. Lovely. Flavor follows right along, emphasizing in particular the spicy hop qualities. Resinous feel really continues right through the finish, which also includes a bit of that peach flavor. Nice stuff.

Received 12-oz bottle via trade with TheBeerSommelier. Pours a semi-clear amber brew with a decent off-white head that quickly dissipates but leaves behind some excellent lacing. Aroma of fruity zest, peaches, a hint of tangerine and light caramel malt. Taste is medium bodied, some carbonation with flavors of mostly citrus, peach, pine and some yeast. Finish is quite bitter, a slight metallic texture and retains a lingering bitterness and then a caramel malt aftertaste. Quite enjoyable.

Oh the hops...one of my staples at the local bar. The aroma of this Sweetwater is one of the best from any IPA. The appearance is great, it shows the natural aspect of the brew. Good IPA taste, good IPA feel=good beer.

A: Faintly hazy rich copper color body with a faint skim of off-white bubbles on the surface. A: Citrus and floral hops with some light malty sweetness in the background F:Initial sweet malt braced by rounded bitterness with piney/citrusy hops flavors and faint fruity yeast esters. The citrus hops take on a small bit of harshness near the end. Finishes with a nice level of bitterness and dryness. P: Creamy moderate body O: Nice, good hop presence w/ a substantial enough malt backbone to keep you coming back to the glass.
