A wonderful ale. It is very hard to get and is probably almost run out, but it is just sweet enough that you want to gulp it down. A wonderful drinking expreience a great maroon color with brown sugar tons and minimal head. If you can find it, try it, but you probably can’t and I’m sorry for you.

draft at Taco Mac, Crabapple. light brown with some deep red... with a thin off white head. sweet malt aroma with a bit of cinnamon. nice medium to full body, average carbonation. overall nice flavors over the tongue - some caramel, a touch of sweet spice, lots of sweet malts and some lingering bitterness. Nice finish that gives a touch of alcohol at the back. Ron is a very enjoyable and drinkable beer... It is very very limited so get down to a Taco Mac before its all gone....

On tap at Taco Mac Metropolis. Pours dark, clear amber brown with a big creamy tan head that lingers as a cap and leaves decent lacing. The aroma is dominated by sweet caramel malts that have a slightly smoky character to them. There is also a dark sugary fruit sweetness that adds to the malts. Sweet malts dominate the taste as well with lots of sweet, sugary fruit tastes, everything from apples to maybe some raisins. There is a bit of alcohol burn in the finish, which is slightly dry and smoky. The mouthfeel is very smooth and creamy with good carbonation and goes down easy. This is a very good scotch ale from Sweetwater and another sign that they’re branching out into some new styles and hopefully bodes well for the future.

Served up on tap at Taco Mac in Kennesaw, Georgia. Appearance: Arrived at my perch along the bar a clear, chestnut brown body with a creamy-looking, ivory-colored head. Nice coating of lace on the way down, too. Smell: Earthy peat-scented nose with a fine mix of hearty malts, a tad sweetish, and some fairly pungent fruity esters. It’s a formidable scent. It stings the nostrils. In a good way! Taste: Sweet robust maltiness with tastes of dark brown sugar, molasses, dark caramel, and a small splash of treacle. As with the nose, there’s that punchy fruit character again. Vaguely earthy hop character with a medium bitterness, though, don’t worry, the sweet malts maintain dominance. Peppery alcohol near the end. Finishes sweetish, fruity, and with a bit of alcohol warmth. Mouthfeel: Medium-plus body. Medium carbonation. It’s certainly a bit sticky on the mouthfeel. Drinkability: A quality scotch ale from Sweetwater. Recommended, so grab a pint before it runs out... forever. Happy 30th, Taco Mac.

tap at taco mac johns creek. first pour and first rating. mahogany colored, tan head, very nice lacing. deep peat smoke aroma, rich caramel, toasted grain. flavor is a sweet malt, medium bitterness, rich caramel malt, hint of smoke. some vanilla, some wood, calming earthiness. medium body. finishes with a light woody bitterness. scotch, scotch, scotch i love scotch. chyna was here, what a moment :)

Draft at Taco Mac. Pours a deep, clear, reddish garnet with a thin white head. The aroma is sweet with some caramel and lots of tangy malt sweetness. The flavor is malty and rich with some caramel, light fruit, light toffee, and a touch of roast and smoke. The finish has a touch of bitterness with a hint more smoke. The mouthfeel is full and thick but not too thick with a decent level of brisk suds. Overall, a tasty beer, but it could be better with a little more dark malt character and a touch less smoke.

On tap in Mar 2009: Pours a transparent dark mahogany with a well-lacing off-white head. Aroma of sweet toasty caramel with a touch of light fruity esters and a touch of peat. Body starts mostly with dense sugary caramel malt and some light fruity flavor before a sweet sticky finish. Needs more peaty character and bittering hops for balance or could stand to attenuate more.
