On tap at Sweetwater Tavern - Sterling. Clear copper body with a small white head. Sweet caramel and light toasty aroma. Sweet caramel flavor with light fruity hints and a faint toasty finish. Medium light body with moderate carbonatino.

Nice color- a dark amber color, like a good doppelbock, with a bit of tannish foam. Aroma of malt, perhaps a hint of fruitiness, not bad. Taste is not as bold as a bock should be. Not the big, bold bock it was advertised to be. But not bad.

Draught at the Merrifield location. Sweet and spicy. Cranberry color with a gold/white head. Smells richly of malt, toffee and caramel. My favorite of what they had available.

Draft at the Centreville brewpub. "Big rich and malty" is right ... This is a mouthfull. Sweet and cookie-based brew with a bitter apple finish. Deep amber with a nice full head. Quite good. Mellow enough that my non-beer nerd female friend actually ordered one, too. (#2646, 1/13/07)

Not a very impressive bock beer at all, a lot of notes don’t meet up with the style, the appearance was a dark orange with maybe a little amber hue to it, the body was way too light, a little light on the flavors as well, only a touch of toffee & malt with a little caramel, sweet & malty finish, but a very disappointing beer
