maniac (2022), Richmond, Virginia, USA Apr 6, 2008 On tap at Sweetwater Tavern - Sterling. Clear copper body with a small white head. Sweet caramel and light toasty aroma. Sweet caramel flavor with light fruity hints and a faint toasty finish. Medium light body with moderate carbonatino. BenDover (98), Texas, USA Feb 6, 2008 Nice color- a dark amber color, like a good doppelbock, with a bit of tannish foam. Aroma of malt, perhaps a hint of fruitiness, not bad. Taste is not as bold as a bock should be. Not the big, bold bock it was advertised to be. But not bad. JonR888710 (1000), Cochabamba, Bolivia Jan 2, 2008 Draught at the Merrifield location. Sweet and spicy. Cranberry color with a gold/white head. Smells richly of malt, toffee and caramel. My favorite of what they had available. Braudog (3463), Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates Jan 14, 2007 Draft at the Centreville brewpub. "Big rich and malty" is right ... This is a mouthfull. Sweet and cookie-based brew with a bitter apple finish. Deep amber with a nice full head. Quite good. Mellow enough that my non-beer nerd female friend actually ordered one, too. (#2646, 1/13/07) obxdude10 (1390), Reading, Pennsylvania, USA Dec 31, 2005 Not a very impressive bock beer at all, a lot of notes don’t meet up with the style, the appearance was a dark orange with maybe a little amber hue to it, the body was way too light, a little light on the flavors as well, only a touch of toffee & malt with a little caramel, sweet & malty finish, but a very disappointing beer
