CaptainCougar (5379), Rockville, Maryland, USA Apr 22, 2007 On cask at the 1/27/07 Atlanta Cask Ale Tasting: Pours a slightly hazy transparent copper orange with a thin, airy coating of off-white head. Sweet orange and grapefruity hoppy aroma has some toasty biscuity malty notes. Body starts mildly sweet, revealing some piny grapefruity flavor and bittering hops toward a thinner bittersweet finish. Could use some more caramel malty sweetness and body, but has a good hoppy presence. shp555 (1678), Atlanta, Georgia, USA Feb 1, 2007 Pours a light orange color with a white head. Aroma is of sweet malts and a nice grapefruit citrus hops. Flavor has a decent malt backbone with a long wonderful grapefruit bitter finish. jrob21 (1252), Atlanta, Georgia, USA Jan 30, 2007 On cask at Atlanta Cask Ale. Cloudy orange color. Big grapefruit and pine aromas. Very overpowering. Some citrus fruit tastes. Not as sweet as a lot of doubles I’ve had but I’m not complaining. You better like hop aromas if you ever get this one. I could smell it across the room. pintocb (508), Darsville, Georgia, USA Jan 28, 2007 Bonus beer at the CAT in Atlanta. Very hoppy. Lots of citrus, and I love the citrus. Misses the fizz of its single IPA cousin. jordank (2), Senoia, Georgia, USA does not count Feb 23, 2006 Huge hop aroma, but where is all the malt? Tastes like pinesol mixed with bong water, but maybe it’s just me. RateandPillage (417), Atlanta, Georgia, USA Feb 2, 2006 On cask at the 2006 Atlanta Cask Ale Fest. Pours in between dark gold and orange. Lots of grapefruit and pine hop aroma. Not nearly as much in flavor and a little thin for my taste. Overall not bad, but I would like to try this one in a couple months; not on cask. goldtwins (4079), Nesconset, New York, USA Feb 1, 2006 2006 Atlanta Cask Ale Challenge Slightly hazed copper color with a minimal "cask" head. Big grapefruit and the flesh of citrus fruit aroma mixed with pine. If you smelled your hands after moving pines trees around that is the piney smell you would get. Caramel malt flavor has a big floral and citrus hop running through it. Mildly bitter finish that is semi-dry. Lightly warming.
