A mistake. It has to be a mistake that this was 1) on tap, 2) named lambic

Not so lucky…
I dislike:
Let’s see. It looks dull with its murky brown coat. It deployds an oppressive strong candied cherry aroma, say cherry blossom and chalk, half and half. Hugely medicinal as well and especially in the finish which is a sad remake of the rumoured horror movie The attack of the phenols. Useless to point out it’s also cloyingly sweet. Ultimately, I found it a bit unrespectable.

| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Sep 24, 2008 Black with tan head and lace. Large cherriness that even smells tart. Fruity finish it almost tastes as good as it smells. A bit thin but overall a very nice offering. sirpsycho (356), Murrysville, Pennsylvania, USA
| 1.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 4/5 | 3/10 | 1/5 | 7/20 | Mar 21, 2008 Draft at the brewery. Listed as Black Cherry Lambic. Pours very dark, reddish black. Aroma is a medicinal cherry. Flavor is a very medicinal cherry, cough-drop like. Could only drink about 25% of this, had to order a different beer. Pass on this. | 2.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 9/20 | Nov 19, 2006 Had this one labelled as Black Cherry Lambic. It’s really too bad, but it seems that lambic is becoming the new buzz word when describing fruit beer. Not good for authentic lambics. Anyway, the aroma was disgustingly sweet like pure cherry syrup. After getting a whiff of that crap, I was surprised that the flavor was completely different. It had a slight tartness, but there was no funkiness and the cough syrupy sweetness crept in after letting it sit for a while. Not too good, and not one I would order. beerbuzzmontreal (2931), Montreal, Quebec, Canada
| 2.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 3/5 | 4/10 | 3/5 | 8/20 | Sep 30, 2006 Pours a dark mahogany color with ruby highlights and a thin pinkish head. Aroma and flavor of sweet, artificial cherries, urgh. The palate is light and dry and the carbonation is gentle. This is not good, I mean if you want to do a fruit beer, fine, but make sure that the fruit feels genuine and real rather than artificial. GonZoBeeR (2163), ste-Eulalie, Quebec, Canada

| 2.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 4/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 9/20 | Dec 22, 2004 Sample at the brewpub, listed as "black cherry lambic". Near-opaque dark cherry-brown...sweet black cherry soda nose, rather artificial...sour-cherry body is reasonably pleasant and not infected like some of the other samples, but watery and very simple. | 2.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 10/20 | Nov 25, 2003 (Draught) Thin, white head with a near opaque reddish body. Pleasant, yet artificial cough syrup nose. Good sour notes with a faint sour cherry finish. Good.
