omhper (10141), Stockholm, Sweden Dec 28, 2006 Bottled, thanks Lilith, Nigredo & Panzerfaust! Cloudy amber, rich lively head. Caramelly with some grassy hops and a short burst of ash. Dryish with rounded mouthfeel and solid body. Lightly ashy finish. Like an Anchor Steam, but more packed with flavour and more alive. Another very solid Szot beer! bluevegie (1708), Perth, Australia May 29, 2008 Dull orangey amber body with good head. So far most of the Szot I have tried have similar characters. Grapefruit bitterness that is not balanced as I would hope for. Solid lacing. Sully (1361), Stanmore, New South Wales, Australia Mar 31, 2008 Updated: Apr 1, 2008I will ignore the description that this is like a porter. In colour it is as much a porter as I am a Springbok supporter. It is an orange/amber with a very cloudy body, perfectly acceptable for a bottle conditioned beer. The head is a clean white but given the 6% it is going to flatten somewhat. Quite fruity in the nose as I would have thought for a cerveza al vapor. Equally zesty in the mouthfeel and one that reminds me a little of the Aussie Coopers Sparkling Ale. Their advertising states that their beer is cloudy but fine, equally the brewing climate in Chile is looking at a sunny future if this beer is one of the new breed. Gazza (720), Worcester, Worcestershire, England Oct 27, 2007 Bottle, thanks Cristián and David! This beer shouts quality in all aspects. A solidly malty beer with smooth, toasty graininess all through it and then a balanced, mellow, complex grain finish with toffee, malt, bitterness and some dryness. Good stuff. Fukito (590), Buenos Aires, Argentina Mar 30, 2007 Bottle March 07 - thanks to the chilean gang (Lilith, Panzerfaust and Nigredo). Overcarbed, foams far too much. Pour a nice, hazy copper color with an almost white head. Aroma is hoppy, malty, yeasty. Taste is bitter with a nice, pleasant, malt backbone and gentle aftertaste. Medium mouthfeel, a bit rough. The weakest offering from Szot, not bad, but needs some tweaking.
