Clear dark maple with no head at all....very faint and sweet nutty, caramelized sugar and vanilla-flecked aroma.....the body is a bit grapy, but mostly its watery, oh so very watery and thin with just a hint of woody hops and maple, but you have to fight to find it. | 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Jan 4, 2007 Draught. Pours cola brown with a small bubbly head. Slight, nutty, bready aroma. Some pleasing, rich nutty notes, mild biscuitiness make up the flavor which I found to be more assertive and balanced than their other beers I tried. The sweetness is not overbearing at all which is sometimes a problem in these brown ales. It’s a clean, but thin beer. Good for a session drink. jb (1056), Rochester, New York, USA
