Bottle & Tap. Murky brown with a beige head. Aroma of IJ yeast, caramel and some roasted malts. Flavour is yeasty, sweet, caramel, slightly bitter finish. Medium bodied. Nice bock, solid IJ beer, as usual.

On tap at the brewery. Pours a hazy brown with a beige head and lacings. Sweet and dry. Quite malty. Aromas of Belgian yeast and banana eaters. Tastes a bit like a wheat. Hint of sour maltyness. Medium to full bodied. Soft carbonation. Quite wheatish.

Courtesy SoLan. Hazy copper color, moderately thick off-white head. Light apple notes, some spices, light grain, mild funk. Simple, straightforward taste - sweet malts, light spice, fruity finish.

Amber. Small white head. Typical ’t IJ aroma- yeast-centric with floral, funky, lightly sour, lightly spicy notes- with an earthy, hearty undertone. Flavor adds some toasty grains. Medium body, balanced carbonation. Dry, yeasty finish. Solid. Love this brewery.

Bottle: When I cracked the cap it became a volcano of spewing head. I tried to pour and stop the carnage as fast as possible. Ended up with about half a bottle in the glass. Dark orange brown with a medium color off white head. Aroma is sour a bit spicy. Taste is orange peel and coriander. Finish is dry and metal.

Courtesy of Fonefan. Brown/orange with a unpleasant aroma with notes of yeast and barnyard. The flavour has a light sweetness, sourness, notes of yeast, barnyard and some fruit. It’s way too yeasty for me...

33cl. bottle at home: Ring around the neck of the bottle worries me before opening. Yup, it’s a gusher... but not too bad. Pours a dark red with brown tint and a fluffy, creamy head floats on top. Big nose of caramel, yeast and some definite earthiness. Slight raisin and biscuit float through the rest. Alcohol shows through in the back of the nose with some spices. Some cooked banana floating around as well. Flavor is a first quite yeasty and leafy. An herbal sharpness that gets somewhat smoothed out by a lower earthy character. Sort of a metallic herbal quality. Some malt character showing up here and there towards the end but always getting covered by earthy and metallic herbs and yeast.
