This beer has a brown/red body - hue apperance and a coarse light brown scum collar. I have drunk the beer from the bottle and it had a lot of carbonic acid. The initial flavor taste is light bitter with a little bit sweet afther tast.

Bottle, 2004, fresh version Strange bock. Spicy, that’s for sure, but lacking Bock-sweetness. Decent beer, but certainly not what I expected when I opened this one. Bottle, exp.date 8/2001. Opened 3/2006. Pours a clear red-amber coloured beer with a small offwhite head. Sweet, fruity nose, sugared strawberries, touch of blackberry/blackcurrant, more plain sugar. Sour taste, not very appealing. Ends on more woody, bitter notes. Ageing doesn’t seem to have done the trick here. 7 4 5 3 11 Rating above is fresh version

IJbock changed to bio, maybe the change needs some time to let it work in. My guess is that it was better when it was not bio. Strange flavour and aroma, lot of fruity and coreander esters.

Very dark brown beer with some redder highlights; good yellow-brown head, reasonably stable. Chocolate, vanilla, brambles, fruit sherbet, liquorice, dark malts - very complex, aromatic nose. Leafy, earthy, even mushrooms, chocolate & tobacco flavours in the taste. A bit of banana, estery, faint woody. More marked liquorice flavour retronasal. A bit disappointingly light MF, faint velvety texture. As if an originally fuller beer has been diluted. Great, complex Bock. All the more remarkable seen the use of bio ingredients, usually much less flavourfull. Good show.

Malt and cinnamon aroma and flavor. Sweetish bock, medium bodied with a hint of licorice.

Solid brown color, with an immense flourishing cream-colored head. Fresh aroma, slightly spicy, deep and dusky, heady, a little floral, herbal, even. Smooth palate, soft and full of that bouyant body that I associate with Belgian products, although this is from the Netherlands. A wonderful lightness of spirit pervades every sip, while still being dark, delicious, and full of character. Vibrant.

Hazy amber orange, with a lot of foam!Aroma is herbal and spicey, coriander and gooseberry? Green banana and anise? Soft mouthfeel with some prickle. The flavors are muted with green notes and a dry finish that is slightly bitter. Orange and cut grass come to mind, medium to light weight in the mouth with a touch of sourness. Very unusual! Hard to pin down, almost wit like.

Pours a hazy brown/red beer with a foamy tan head. Aroma is quite spicy and fruity with notes of pepper and yeast. Flavor is also spicy with sweet malt, hops and some fruit. Watery in the finish. Drinkable but not the best!
