(Bottle, Monk’s Café, Stockholm, 2 Feb 2007) Amber colour, slightly hazy, with huge off-white head. Fruity nose with notes of apricots, orange, Seville orange and lots of spicy, flowery hops. Fruity taste with a nutty backbone (walnut?), notes of dried apricots, grapefruit and loads of spicy hops in the finish. Quite complex brew with a lovely spicy, hop character. Very nice!

Bottled. brownish amber with a big white foam. Quite dry and fruity aroma of roses, , pine-apples, kiwi and grassy hop oils. Dryish aromatic aflavour of flowers, yeast and caramel. Long warming aftertaste of wet grass, roses and caramel. Really interesting belgian strong, this.

NorCal tasting Jan 07 - I was waiting on this one to come around and it did not disappoint. An aroma of burnt toast, raisins, sweet and fruity malts abound. Appearance was golden orange in color. Mouthfeel was very spritzy and lively. Flavors were sweet fruits, yeast, some toasted cracker...very nice.

On tap at Loosje. A very creamy, powerful ale. Orange flavor and orange color. Tastes of honey, peachy and very spicy, w/ coriander taste.

Huge off-white head of fine bubbles. Lots of carbonation. Reduces to a rocky foamy clump. Sweet orange aroma with apricots and spices. Lots of fruit and yeast and spices. Smells more like a belgian triple. Color is a hazy dark orange. Fizzy in the mouth with lots of spice and yeast. More fruit. Little tart and dry at the finish. An ok belgian but not all that great in comparison.

Heavy, strong yet refreshing, with the typical ’t Ij spice - very prominent coriander. Looks opaque and thick - it feels very opaque and thick on the palate too, with a heavy & full body. Nice and hoppy with an in-your-face taste & aroma - dry, piney and yeasty. Overall bold & strong. Nice one.

cloudy dark orange with a large cream colored wavy head. aroma of citrus, wood, olives, hops, oranges, pineapple. flavor is wood, yeast, marshmallows, and olives. must be aged in oak barrels. decent, but i hate the woody(olive) flavors.
