Good champagne mouthfeel. The aroma is very malty with caramel and spices. The flavour ha s good toasty maltiness with caramel, spices, dark fruits and yeast. Spicy, orange, yeasty, malt flavor. Yeast, orange, and spice linger. Medium body. Fairly dry, bready finish. Yeasty, sweet malt aroma with notes of molassas, toffee and ripe fruit. Moderately sweet, malty taste; dark fruit and a light nuttiness were evident. Medium-bodied, modestly carbonated mouthfeel. They nailed the style on this one, but I usually expect IJ to do something a little different. This is an ordinary dubbel of high quality. Sweet, malty, toffeish, acidic and worty flavor with hints of licorice, vanilla and juniper. Quite viscous, sahti-like palate. Palate was kind of weak with a watery feel, nothing notable there.
