Skyview (3931), Papoose Jct., Minnesota, USA Jun 30, 2007 Sampled with Minnesota gang, shared by retro42. Pours a semi-hazy coppery brown brew with a thin film on top. Aroma of toasted yeast and wheat, with a touch of raisins. Taste is a little tart and peppery with a yeast aftertaste. badgerben (3584), Blaine, Minnesota, USA Jun 29, 2007 Thanks retro42! Copper color with no head. Good malt and caramel aroma. Sweet malt taste and a little yeasty/spicy taste. BDR (2139), Roseville, Minnesota, USA Jun 29, 2007 Thanks to retro42 for sharing. Hazy brown body with faint carbontation. Massive head. Nutty aroma with a sweet body. BelgiskOlklub (392), Viby J, Denmark Jun 25, 2007 Red/brown color, big white foam. Medium sweetness and slighly basement aromas like the other beers fra ’t Ij. 1FastSTi (2551), Glendale, Wisconsin, USA Jun 20, 2007 The beer pours to a murky chestnut colored body with a lasting frothy off-white head. A heavy quick carbonation is actively propagating up. The aroma sort of has a bing cherry lactic thing going on. The flavor is nutty toasted almond slices, creamy cheesecake, dry nutty Brazil nuts on the back-end. The palate is rich, creamy, tart, and medium-bodied. The heavy carbonation seems to soften the mouthfeel. pintocb (505), Darsville, Georgia, USA May 13, 2007 Reddish brown. Lots of estery caramel and some bitterness. Very dry and has a light body. I had no idea what catergory of beer this would fall into and was very surprised to see that it is a dubbel. Stine (1380), St. Paul, Minnesota, USA May 8, 2007 Pours to an electrified shade of mahogany red, thick with sediment. Aromas of molasses, charred prunes and figs, cherry favor syrup. Tastes very earthy and dirty - honey, iron, and rotted oak. Rather rich and heavy palate - both intensely carbonated and also sort of lifeless. Lacks gracefulness. thewolf (5621), Kolding, Denmark Apr 29, 2007 Bottle. Pours dark clear amber. Head is yellowish off white with small bubbles. Aroma is yeasty with lots of berry-like tones. Oranges, apricot, cherries and raspberries. Quite high carbonation. Taste is ’dark’ - based on caramel and the yeast, it maintains a dry chocolate/peppery darkness to it - and finishes suprisingly sour. Not that terrible full mouthfeel.
