Pours a hazy reddish brown with a big head and a light lace. The aroma is of brown sugar nuts plenty of plum and a bit of red wine, and has a considerable mustiness. The flavor is nutty and sweet but well balanced. The beer is spicy and has notes of molasses alcohol raisin licorice and plenty of earthy tones. This is fantastic, all the flavors of a great dubbel with only 6.5% abv, I wish there were more out there like this.

Refreshing dubbel but it could pack more flavor. On tap at the brewery. Pours hazy, dark caramel color with creamy beige head. Tart, fruity nose is somewhat cidery. Flavor is lightly sweet, still a bit fruity, going into a light and dusty bitterness. Somewhat creamy MF, going dry.

A ton of Indian cuisine spices in aroma - cumin, curry, pepper and woody saffron. Flat body, dry and full of cedar set against a solid malt backdrop. Very solid palate for the amount of alcohol. Thick, lasting lacing. Would be a perfect accompaniment to a hearty beef dish.

hazy brown with strong tan head. to call it a dubble is questionable, tastes more like a flemish sour with a sour nose with a mild malty flavor with some sourness to finish off, an enjoyable if not extraordinary beer

16 June 2005 (Maastricht-Fallstaff) - Some fruit malt and hop aromas. Clear red-red/brown colour, lowish head and OK lacing. Complex fruit and hops, could have more malt. Thickish palate.

25/09/2009. 330ml bottle from Beerstore. Hazy red-brown. Puts forth the gorgeous dark figgy fruits of dubbel-lore but they fade to autolysis and I can’t make it through the last third of the bottle... this beer really has potential but don’t we all. The most positive point is the stand of head that holds firmer and longer than George W Bush did to his belief that invading Iraq was justified.

Bottle. Very acidic nose, light cherry. Cloudy light brown with minimal head. Flavor is nothing like the nose. Only a touch of acidity, more sweetness, can‘t nail down the fruit. Palate is full bodied but very smooth.

Dark, cloudy mahogany with modest brown head / Big, sweet malt & chocolate nose / Medium body, watery, with sweet malts throughout fair finish / Skunky, sour, weak flavors of chocolate, dates, and malts / Poor.
