epassa (105), Sao Paulo, Brazil Dec 5, 2007 Dark Brown color, medium head. Aroma: Malt, tost, prunes, banana, chocolate. Palate: Malt, chocolate, spice, alcohol well-balanced, coriander. Good beer. JoeMcPhee (4893), Jackson Heights, New York, USA Nov 30, 2007 11.3 oz bottle. Dark brown beer, no head at all. Quite oily on the pour. Swet fruity aroma wit loads of dark plums, cherries and a hint of chocolate. Raisins and a rummy/molasses character. A touch of sherryish oxidation. A little bit of dustiness. Very chewy and sweet, but with an unusual sweetness. A bit of sweet nutty almondy character. Flavour shows great balance, sherry, almonds, cherry pits and plums. Warming intensifies the raisiny/plummy sweetness but it never gets cloying. Quite a lovely brew. TrefwoordPunk (549), Leiden, Netherlands Nov 30, 2007 Pours a beautiful amberish brown with a small tan head and the aroma of a typical triple. Taste is not exactly like a triple but it isn’t that easy to describe, You can taste bits of, caramel, cocolate, banana, prunes, citrus, roasted malt and brown sugar (and I’m sure there many more to be found in this beer. Very nice mildly sweet and bitter finish. Great beer Floback (333), Naples, Florida, USA Nov 23, 2007 Pours 1 inch of sustaining tan head over a dark orange/amber body. Numerous flakes of sediment explore their new surroundings in my glass. Tight patterns of clumpy lace. Deliciously strong and sweet aromas of light and dark fruits mixed with barnyard funkiness. Similar flavors with additions of bubblegum, raisin, subtle coriander, and shoebox. Alcohol is present but well-balanced with a nice warming effect. Lively carbonation and medium/full body. Refreshing and well-balanced flavors. Great beer. So far, this brewery has yet to displease from their offerings. tytoanderso (1382), St. Louis Park, Minnesota, USA Nov 10, 2007 Bottle dated 01/05. Fruity aroma. Figs, dates, raisins along with some earthy dryness and some sourness as well. Pours murky brown/amber with a small off white head. Flavor has a lot of malty sweetness with lits of dried fruit notes. Plums and raisins. Some dry leafyness as well. Wet, cut crass. Lots of damp earthiness. Medium bodied with low carbonation. PhillyBeer2112 (2084), Orange Park, Florida, USA Oct 28, 2007 Well this is an odd smelling beer. Has a bit of funk, a sour cherry horseblanket note dominates, with a doughy sugariness in the background and just a touch sweaty. Perhaps a sherryish note that hints at oxidation. I wish I could tell how old this bottle was - but a little oxidation won’t hurt a beer this big. Cloudy red-amber color, foams quickly but fades to a thin dense head. Flavor is a tad oxidized, with a mild sourness, cherry pit tartness, and a papery finish. Lingering alcohol warmth and tingle. Bright carbonation keeps this fairly heavy alcoholic beer nice and lively in the mouth. I can taste some age in this beer, but I’m waffling about whether it detracts or adds to the final experience. I’m leaning towards "adds". ogivlado (3036), Zagreb, Croatia Oct 18, 2007 Bottled(330ml). -Hazy brown caramel coloured, medium sized persistent beige head, acidic fruity (cherry) nose. The aroma is malty, slight yeasty, nice hoppy and caramelish with notes of spices, cherries and coriander. Alcohol is well balanced. Dry sweet finish. So far the best of seven ’tIJ beers I’ve tried. jimhilt (1664), Bow, New Hampshire, USA Oct 10, 2007 Pours a four finger light tan head that fades slowly leaving some lace. Cloudy amber color. Medium carbonation and medium-heavy bodied. Slight malty nose. Flavor is sweet almost candy like but enough tartness keeps it balanced. Sweet piney finish. High ABV is not noticeable. Pricey at $6.20 for a 330ml bottle from Tully’s Beer and Wine Wells, ME.
