Jul 7, 2004 Murky brown color with big bubbled head that leaves quick. Lots of aroma, mostly of caramel, apple and cloves. Taste is malty, which becomes sour, like cherries. Bitter chocolate and malty creaminess. Very bitter hop finish.

Jun 25, 2005 Bottle. Large ivory head that was mostly lasting, fine-small sized bubbles, decent lacing, hazy, and a brown hue. Nose was malty, caramel and sweet. Nice! Flavor was malty, caramel and vinuous. Very, very nice! Tingly and dry palate.

Feb 8, 2003 Updated: Feb 9, 2003Pours dark brown. Heavy sediment within the bottle. Strong aroma of chocolate, burning wood and vanilla. Taste is reminescent of a good port, and has a fruitish and slightly yeasty quality. Finishes smooth but light in the alcohol taste with a slight licorice taste. Has a dryness and hint of taste about it that seems reminescent of an aged Sam Adams Triple Bock. Recommended.

Oct 25, 2008 Bottle. Dark amber/brown beer with a strong head. The aroma is fruity and mildly spiced, and the flavour is fruity, slightly sour and weakly spiced. Overall an average beer.

Jul 8, 2005 Habersham Beverage Warehouse, Savannah, Ga - 330 ml bottle. Pours a dark ruby red with a frothy, creamy mocha colored head. Clean, fruity aroma, some nectarines, citrus and brief floral notes with a back end of alcohol. Very full flavored, hints of chocolate, bubble gum, peaches, dates, and a touch of licorice and some prunes. Excellent flavor. Thick, creamy mouthfeel.

Oct 18, 2007 Bottled(330ml). -Hazy brown caramel coloured, medium sized persistent beige head, acidic fruity (cherry) nose. The aroma is malty, slight yeasty, nice hoppy and caramelish with notes of spices, cherries and coriander. Alcohol is well balanced. Dry sweet finish. So far the best of seven ’tIJ beers I’ve tried.

Aug 14, 2006 Dark brown colored with hints of red. Huge light brown head, yeast makes appearance to be cloudy. Strong aroma of yeast, spices, caramel and mild alcohol. Medium to full bodied. Flavor is also nice with licorice, spices and sweetness. Aftertaste has fine warming alcohol with some licorice, spices and biting hops and yeast.
