Huge floral esters, along with strong fruit (sweet red grapes, raisins, plums, and sugar coated figs). Smooth, creamy palate with great fizzy carbonation. Wonderful flavours of buttered popcorn, brown sugar coated raisins, dark cherries, milk chocolate, and great yeast. A stand out for me of the t IJ beers. Wow, I am off to buy another . . . tytoanderso (1387), St. Louis Park, Minnesota, USA

Figs, dates, raisins along with some earthy dryness and some sourness as well. Pours murky brown/amber with a small off white head. Flavor has a lot of malty sweetness with lits of dried fruit notes. Plums and raisins. Some dry leafyness as well. Wet, cut crass. Lots of damp earthiness. Medium bodied with low carbonation. Stine (1380), St. Paul, Minnesota, USA
| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 5/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Nov 30, 2006 Pours opaque, dense mahogany...pretty. Heavy, primal aromas of maple, oak, toffee and earth. Dried cherries and peaches swimming in caramel and scotch, with an understated sour finish, when its rich and syrupy mouthfeel becomes immediately dry and bitter. A wild, ancient animal of a beer. COmplex flavour gets better when you let it rest for a while in the glass. Nice. Sully (1367), Woolloomooloo, New South Wales, Australia
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Dec 22, 2004 Good appearance on the glass even though there do appear to be some floaties here and there. Good rich nose which complements the weather outside in the northern hemisphere. There is a warming undertone that finishes off well in a dry after palate. From the bottle regretfully as I didn’t get to the bar. apoptosis (1316), Long Island, New York, USA
| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Mar 14, 2004 This beer smells great - strawberries and fruits abound! The finish is also quite good - full mouthfeel and nicely balanced bitterness. Many spicy fruits in the flavor as well, and the alcohol is well masked. The flavor is just a tad too thin for my taste, but overall this is a very good beer. henrikb (1303), Aarhus, Denmark
