Dubbed a barleywine style by the brewery, but with added complexity and a strong Belgian twist. A powerful, dark beer.

Deep garnet body with a strang epeach colored head. The aroma was rich freshly poished shoe leather and peaches. There was also some earthy musk. The taste was rich with caramel and some old canned pears. There was also a nice spicy cinnamon note in the finish. A clean and delicate beer for the big abv. Well done.

Brown sugar, raisins, dates, plums, toffee, yeast in the aroma. Almost smells like a Belgian Bock. Opaque mahogany brown with tan head that recedes to cover with minor lace. Very sweet, sugary dark fruits with minor roastiness in the finish. Full bodied and somewhat sticky in the mouth. Probably would have faired much better if sampled by itself rather than in the middle of a tasting session. Bottle enjoyed with MartinT and Rastacouere at Spuyten Duyvil (Brooklyn, New York).

Cloudy deep copper hue with good frothy off-white head and very good lace. The aroma has fruity notes of plum, strawberry, and currents. Additional dusty yeast esters, aromatic hops, cardamom, pipe tobacco and mocha malts. Wonderful nose indeed. The taste starts equally fruity and mildly tart, lots of yeast notes as well. Get some subdued bitterness, woody astringent qualities and flowery sublime notes. The mouthfeel is earthy soft and fruity twangy, dry and just a dose of alcohol noted. Of the three offerings I have had from tIJ, this is by far the best, highly recommended.

Bottle at home ... foamed up a bit so very sedimenty... hazy brown ... nice sweet malt toffee and laden fruit with just a little yeastyness in its nose ... bready fruity flavours ... with a slight tart background ... quite soft .... very bready finnish... low bitterness but a little drying

Bottle. Very hith loff-white long lasting fluffy head. Hazy orange body. Aroma of sour berries with the addition of alcohol and hops. Not sour but acidic flavor dominated by alcohol, too dominated in fact, with little carbonation and a long aftertaste. "Not my cup of tea". Too much alcohol in aroma and flavor.

Very decent yeasty. Yes candi, pineapple, apples. Though overall not too complex. Creamy medium-thin mouthfeel. Could use food for mouth puckering finish

Bottle (330ml). Poured hazy deep orange-brown with a thin creamy off-white head, plenty of floaties. Slightly bitter aroma of plantation sugar/carmel malt, yeast, spices, sultanas and hints of table cream and wood - nice and blended. Taste is similar, but a little muted, some grapeseed and alcohol bitterness. Mouthfeel average body and carbonation - nice, but nothing special.
