Pours dark brown. Heavy sediment within the bottle. Strong aroma of chocolate, burning wood and vanilla. Taste is reminescent of a good port, and has a fruitish and slightly yeasty quality. Finishes smooth but light in the alcohol taste with a slight licorice taste. Has a dryness and hint of taste about it that seems reminescent of an aged Sam Adams Triple Bock. Recommended.

Good appearance on the glass even though there do appear to be some floaties here and there. Good rich nose which complements the weather outside in the northern hemisphere. There is a warming undertone that finishes off well in a dry after palate. From the bottle regretfully as I didn’t get to the bar.

Murky reddish brown brew.Nose is complex, toffee candy bar and a plum fruit note also.Flavor at first turned me off until I let this sit for awhile a warm up.The sweetness of the toffee and fruit came in big once this warmed a little.Still a little sour on the palate.

Bottle at home. Sweet aroma and flavour, marshmallow like. Citrusy, grassy and sweet. Hoppy. Marsapin finish. Warms at the end. Nice. Alchol is well-hidden.

Pours hazy, dark amber/brown with a nice tan coloured head. Nose is multilayered, caramel/toffee malt figs, raisins and yeast spice. Palate is a little more one dimensional with yeast spice dominating the finish. Good beer, actually would have prefered a touch of the brett-like tartness etc that the rest of the range have ala orval. Still pretty impressive beer.
