Cloudy orange/golden color with a nice dense white head. Excellent lacing.
Lots of spices and herbs in the aroma, hops, sour fruits and citrus. Nice heavy hop flavour. Also fruits and a range of spices. Long delicate bitter finish. A really drinkable and interesting beer. A style in it’s own.
martinboer (118), Amsterdam, Netherlands Jan 2, 2009 On tap at Cafe Belgique in Amsterdam. Really citrusy taste, sour almost. But also very crisp. Well-worth searching out, a very good drink. wyzzywyz22 (499), Wirral, Merseyside, England Oct 19, 2008 Bottle, De Bierkoning, Amsterdam. Consumed on the rattler heading down to Brussels. Cloudy amber colour with a big ol’ white head. Spicy, yeasty aroma and flavour. A bit of herbiness (or is that just me after a fruitful trip to Grey area). Some hop bitterness into a lingering dry finish. A little on the booozy side and something about this I didn’t quite warm to . Oh well. RichardGretton (2784), Leicestershire, England Oct 16, 2008 Bottle. Cloudy brown beer with a very strong head. The aroma is sour, burn’t and dry, and the flavour is very bitter, slightly spiced and sour. Overall quite an average beer. leaparsons (4180), Leicester, Leicestershire, England Oct 10, 2008 Bottle. Brown with a large rocky foam. Aromas are stale malts with chocolate and citrus. Spicy and flora. Flavours are sweet malts with chocolate and bready yeast. Grapefruit bitterness and dry on the finish. sunevdj (1550), Copenhagen OE, Denmark Oct 8, 2008 Amsterdam 08. BottleS from bierkoning. They both poured a hazy brown with a big tanned head. They where both overcarbonated. First one was really infected, it smelled of horseblanket and wee. I went back to the shop and bought another bottle - that one was also infected but not quite as much. Both totally drainpours. When will I grow balls and complain when they sell me infected beers?
