Commercial Description:
A golden Tripel-style ale. A little lighter in alcohol, but not in flavor, than Westmalle, and more drinkable. It matches the best of Belgium.

11.2 oz. bottle labelled as March 2006. Interesting, floral aroma featuring melon, cinnamon, bourbon, yellow raisin, and wheat notes. Pours a hazy, effervescent dark brass with suspended particulate and a large amount of near-white head. Produces extensive lacing. Fruit-juice-sweet flavor (orange, tangerine, apricot nectar, grape juice, apple juice). Reminiscent of a German dessert wine. Hops noticeable only in the tart finish. Medium-to-full body. Sharp and lively in the palate. I’m not the biggest fan of the pale abbey-style tripels, but I found ’t IJ Zatte to be an interesting and welcoming, though by no means amazing, brew.

The beer is very carbonated. The aroma is mildly fruit and floral. The taste has a definitive tropical taste with hints of mango and pineapple.

0.33l- Straw colored liquid under large ivory head. Sour raspberries on nose. Sour seltzarlike mouthfeel, a lot of lambic notes here. Not what I expected, but in a good way. This is different, something to remeber for a change of pace.

Bottle. Cloudy yellow colour, big white head, aroma and taste of fruites, citrus, grains and mango. Some crisp and spicy notes in the finish. A great trippel. Frits P Aarhus also imports the Natte. 260207

On tap in De Ooievaar. Creamy. Yellow, cloudy colour. Citrusy taste. Very tasty and quite enjoyable. Spicy and fruity tastes, develop into long finish.

(Draught at Monk’s Café, Stockholm, 2 Feb 2007) Orange colour with huge, but brief, white head, leaving some lacing. Fruity nose with distinct citrussy notes of orange, Seville orange and citrus peel. Fruity, spicy taste with apricots, orange, Seville orange and a fresh, spicy finish. This was quite a nice and tasty beer, actually.

Pours a hazy orangey blonde color with a thin white head. Classic tripel aroma and flavor of belgian yeast and citrus. The body is light to medium with a creamy texture and gentle carbonation. This tripel doesn’t have anything new or original to offer, it’s just well-made and enjoyable and I don’t mind at all.
