Hunsell (400), Amsterdam, Netherlands Apr 10, 2005 On tap at the brewery. The best place to drink this beautiful beer, with a large creamy white head. Creamy is also the word for the texture, flavor is slightly sweet, malty, fresh, citrussy and slightly sour as all IJbrews. Wonderful beer. bitter (1137), Henderson, Nevada, USA Apr 6, 2005 you can wait in a long line to get this....out the door of the windmill however, the bar staff i quick and efficient...youlll get your beer soon....and cheap. this one was one of my favs from the windmill. served almost dingy golden in color with a nice mushroom top head. huge flavorful nose of apples, bananas, spices, sweets. follows through into the palate with some wheat character and pinch of foul cheese fills your head. hmmmm? wunderbier (1264), Tampere, Finland Mar 22, 2005 Updated: Apr 11, 200533 cL bottle, snifter, bottle conditioned. Hazy peach/amber body with a tall, frothy, white head. Bread, cookie, straw malts. Herbal hop aroma. Dough and leather yeast. Banana, grape, apple, vanilla, and pepper aromas. Overall, aroma is yeasty first and malty second. Cookie dough...or dough cookie, if you will. Moderate to heavy sweetness, light acidity upfront. Moderately sweet, lightly bitter, lightly acidic in the finish. Hmm...there’s a distinct yeasty sourness throughout. Still reminds me of cookie dough. Medium-full body, creamy/soft texture, lively carbonation. The bottom line is: I prefer my tripels with a little less yeast and a bit more bitterness, but this is pretty damn good. Be careful at the end of the pour, this is a strong tasting yeast strain. smoosh (523), New Albany, Indiana, USA Mar 16, 2005 Bottle - yeasty, malty, a touch of citrus and spice. Deep, dirty gold colored. White, white head. A bunch of floaties! Love the floaties. A good amount of spiciness in the flavor. Long, lingering yeastiness. Nice slight fizziness. This is a good one. JK (2945), Richfield, Minnesota, USA Mar 4, 2005 Updated: Sep 24, 2005Many aromas and they are all good. Nutmeg, yeast, wheat, pears, and apples. Cloudy orange with a huge Duvel-like head. Flavor is complex like the aroma. Citrus, wheat, more pears, and nutmeg. Light spices I can’t identify. Delicate. Smooth but not very full body. Think Tripel Karmeliet but slightly lighter. ChillCoat (1029), Concord, California, USA Jan 15, 2005 Bottled. Pours a cloudy light amber color. Billowy white head with a frothy lacing. Yeasty aroma with notes of stone fruits. Malty and spicy with pears, raisins and cigar flavor notes. Hops lend a bit of an understated bitterness in the end. Finishes Dry. Crosling (1854), Loveland, Colorado, USA Jan 14, 2005 Sampled at Stuffed Sandwich in San Gabriel, Califonria. Pale yellow with a gigantic head of white foam. Appealing nose of light fruits (pears and apples), bubble gum, spice and yeast. Airy, light and timid body. Big bubble gum flavors with hints of papaya, pear, apples, hops and yeast. I really like Ij and their beers. obisbeer (558), Barcelona, Spain Dec 11, 2004 Murky pale orange with thick white head. Yeasty citrus nose wiht malt and a sour note. Med weight with a sweetish mid palate high sparkle on the tongue and drying finish. Malt with some roasted notes and light spice all show on the palate. Not bad though not my favorite triple.
