JoeinUccle (902), Brussels, Belgium May 19, 2008 No, it doesn’t match the best of Belgium. It doesn’t even match the best of Holland. Probably the most disappointing beer of our visit to the brewery. Draft. Pours dull, dirty orange-brown with thin, off-white head. Faint orange nose. Mildly sweet with orange-citric notes and light bitterness. Fairly thick mouthfeel. A bit bland for its strength. Not bad, but still a letdown after the others.
gunnfryd (3539), Kristiansand, Norway May 12, 2008 Bottle. Dark golden / orange colour with an off-white head. Aroma is fruit, yeast, apple. Flavour is fruit, yeast, sour, apple, sweetness, hop. Untypical tripel, but still a nice beer.. mjs (1445), Helsinki, Finland May 11, 2008 (Bottle) Golde and hazy. Very sweet nose. Sweet taste. Bit acidic. Some hop bitterness. Dryish palate. A bit watery. joshwilfong (769), Cleveland, Ohio, USA May 4, 2008 golden with large head. flavor of candy sugar with a nice malt component and good balance but lacking the depth of a great belgian tripel yngwie (4880), Kristiansand, Norway Apr 26, 2008 Bottle. An unclear, cloudy orang-golden beer with a small, off-white head. Small floaties as well. Evident bretty aroma with fruityness, yeast and sourness. A slight alcohol touch as well. There’s also a little rubbery note, but so hidden it doesn’t disturb at all. Medium to full body, sweetness in the background, sourish and effervescent. The flavor is fruity, sourish and funky with yeast and barnyard. Quite bitter finish, but there’s no problem finding the sourish, barnyardish flavors, and it’s quite fruity as well. Cute, untypical tripel. (080426) JMFG (1514), Florida, USA Apr 23, 2008 Cloudy and slight dark straw color with a big white head that recedes, leaving a bunch of lacing behind. Slightly sweet and spicy aroma, some coriander there, also a tad bit of funk. The taste is a bit murky (in a good way) and sweet with some funk in the finish. Another interesting t’IJ - I like their funk character. dchmela (1406), Orlando, Florida, USA Apr 16, 2008 Thanks to Solan for suggesting this. Pours cloudy orange gold with lots of carbonation and a thick fluffy white head. Citrus, yeast, and sour aroma. Has a medium bodied, with a sour, orange citrus taste. Very smooth drinking despite the big carbonation. Finishes dry and bitter. An interesting blend of flavors, very good. gam (1059), brisbane, Australia Apr 13, 2008 Orange pour, thin head, good carbonation,Aroma, cloves, coriander, orange.Flavour, coriander, ginger, clove, fig, lemon,Strong flavours and the finish slight sourness to sweet a dryness, love it.
