Commercial Description:
A golden Tripel-style ale. A little lighter in alcohol, but not in flavor, than Westmalle, and more drinkable. It matches the best of Belgium.

My second time around with the people from tIJ brewery. The first wasn’t the best of beers so I had hoped this was better, and it proved to be so. Aroma was fruit (apricots) and yeasty, but fairly one dimensional. A cloudy orange/yellow color. Flavors were apricots, bready yeast, some malt sweetness and a bit of citrus. I think I’d buy this again.

33cl bottle courtesy of markwise. Pours a cloudy caramel color with thin white head that diminishes rapidly and provides minimal lacing on the glass. Aroma is a sort of moist, wheaty breadiness with notes of barnyard and horseblanket. Some faint sweetness. Lively carbonation with flavors of grass, yeast and bitter lemon. Medium-bodied with a slight bitterness on finish.

33cl bottle, best before 03/2006. Drinking it right now. Poured into small Bodum glass coffee cup. Deep golden color with lots of sediment and visible carbonation (bubbles). Looks like a golden gelatin. Small head. Present aroma - lots of candi sweetness but in a different manner. Real deep earthy sweetness. I am starting to get a rhythem to these beers aromas. Taste is similarly earthy belgian. I almost want to say a roasty sweetness or woodsy. Leaves a sweet wet forest aftertaste. Original.

Cloudy and slight dark straw color with a big white head that recedes, leaving a bunch of lacing behind. Slightly sweet and spicy aroma, some coriander there, also a tad bit of funk. The taste is a bit murky (in a good way) and sweet with some funk in the finish. Another interesting t’IJ - I like their funk character.
