Commercial Description:
A golden Tripel-style ale. A little lighter in alcohol, but not in flavor, than Westmalle, and more drinkable. It matches the best of Belgium.

Pours a cloudy orange/amber with and off-white head . Flavors of wild-yeast and alcohol, but not overpowering.

Bottle 0,33ltr: Dark orange coloured tripel with fruity, honey taste. Very decent bio-beer.

Certainly not the best tripel I’ve ever had. Golden color with a thinnish white head. The nose is impressive with an array of fresh fruit flavors and sour twinge. But the flavor is weak and the body somewhat thin. The carbonation was nice and spunky though. I can’t complain but you won’t see me raving.

Could be something wrong with my brain as the t’IJ beers do have appear to have a definate likeness - not a bad thing of course given how impressive the house style is. Spice and hops on the nose - nice. More of the same on the palate. Taste profile is very well supported with a thick layer of strong malts and alcohol. To my mind might need a touch more weight to be truly deserving of abbey tripel status. Nothwithstanding a distinguished beer.

Bottled. Pours a cloudy light amber color. Billowy white head with a frothy lacing. Yeasty aroma with notes of stone fruits. Malty and spicy with pears, raisins and cigar flavor notes. Hops lend a bit of an understated bitterness in the end. Finishes Dry.

Nice hazy golden body with a creamy head. Aroma of coriander, ginger and malt. Taste was apple, toffee, cinnamon, fine hops. That was delicious too!!!
