harlequinn (2746), Tacoma, Washington, USA Aug 8, 2006 Another interesting trippel that I picked up during my travels. Slightly sweet, but not over the top or cloying. Cookie dough maltiness with some orage jamminess, thick sticky mouthfeel. Finishes dry, but has a wonderful lingering finish, like a dry sauvingon blanc.
RomanW70 (270), Providence, Rhode Island, USA Jul 14, 2008 Had at Brewpub 6/18. Decent tripel. Very grassy on the nose. A little too grassy in the taste. Taste of hay, grass, and more hay. Had medium carbonation, and a little bit of funk. Not a terrible beer, but not a great beer. tytoanderso (1152), St. Louis Park, Minnesota, USA Jul 13, 2008 33cl bottle. Very dusty and dry on the nose with the basement notes developing into some richer, sweeter banana estery aromas. Slightly grassy and musty as well with a touch of cheddar cheese. Subtle and surprisingly complex. Pours a bright gold/copper with a nice sized creamy white head. Plenty of dustiness on the tongue. A mild yeast spice and earthiness. Bread dough and cheese. An interesting and reserved fruitiness comes out of the yeast pour. Very light bretty notes as well toward the bottom of the glass. Creamy on the tongue with lively, but not overpowering carbonation. 8% is deftly hidden. Far from my favorite style, but well crafted nonetheless. Thanks Alan! ekstedt (1731), Göteborg, Sweden Jul 13, 2008 Bottled (33 cl) at het Amsterdamertje, Göteborg, Sweden. Hazy golden with medium white head. Fruity aroma with notes of wild strawberries, spicy & earthy notes. Medium bodied and soft carbonation. Very well balanced with a light initial sweetness followed by a firm dryness. A great saison-like beer. markwise (198), Orlando, Florida, USA Jul 4, 2008 I wondered what horse blanket tasted like. This beer showed me. The aroma is barn-like, but has yeasty grassy notes as well. The body had some particles, but it had decent lace and white head. The finish was kind of bitter and the carbonation was very active. Overall I will not seek this beer out. kiefdog (305), Tampa, Florida, USA Jul 3, 2008 33cl bottle courtesy of markwise. Pours a cloudy caramel color with thin white head that diminishes rapidly and provides minimal lacing on the glass. Aroma is a sort of moist, wheaty breadiness with notes of barnyard and horseblanket. Some faint sweetness. Lively carbonation with flavors of grass, yeast and bitter lemon. Medium-bodied with a slight bitterness on finish.
