Hildigöltur (5051), København Ø, Denmark May 13, 2008 Bottled. Hazy golden with loads of nasty floaties. Aroma of parsley, yeast and some hops. Sweetish yeasty parsley flavour with some hops and some bitterness in the finish. Not hoppy enough to be called Dubbel IPA. And also too many strange Belgian yeasty notes.
bierkoning (4603), La Tropica, Netherlands Jul 11, 2008 Bottle. Blonde, very cloudy. Pours and enormous frothy head. Vanilla, citrus and flowery hops in the aroma. Vanilla yeasty flavor with warming alcohol, traubenzucker and citrus. The very first signs of an infection? Maybe. Yeasty aftertaste, mint. In spite of its flaws, I like this beer. ekstedt (1731), Göteborg, Sweden Jul 8, 2008 Bottle (33 cl) from Ølbutikken. Cloudy golden with medium white head. Caramelly malt aroma with tropical fruits, yeast, and some barnyard notes. Medium bodied and smooth. Heavy bitterness. MrRomero (1872), Wiesbaden-Biebrich, Germany Jul 4, 2008 33 cl bottle from Le Vaudree II, Liege: poured cloudy yellow with a huge rocky off white head. Big yeast and herbaceous hop aroma. ome barnyard notes. Taste is very yeasty with light citrusy hops and massive bitterness. This is not an American DIPA if that’s what you’re looking for.. madsberg (4362), Bangalore, India Jun 25, 2008 Bottled. Golden coluored. Unclear. Dense and frothy off white head. Yeast, elderberry, light banana, loads of sweetness and some stearin notes in the aroma. flavour of alcohol, sweetness, yeast, some light herbs and again some elder. Medium bodied. Dry. Light bitter end with a lot of sweetness. More of a belgian ale than a DIPA IMO.
